And time is frozen...

I'm back in Santa Cruz after the blur that was my holiday.
My Thanksgiving was really short and sweet. I had a couple days to see my favorite people and it was all I needed. My parents drove me back and they are currently still here enjoying Santa Cruz.
I'm surprised I even have the time to post since I'm working this whole weekend. I worked yesterday, yes I worked Black Friday. Not something to be desired.

But anyway, here are some snaps of what I wore on Thanksgiving.

I saw this dress at work about two months ago and I knew I wanted to wear it on Thanksgiving. I'm really digging dark florals for the holiday season and this was kinda perfect.
I was really bummed out when I thought I wasn't going to get to come home this year, but it all worked out. So it's a happy story. Smiles.

Bound to fall in love...

It's late and I should be sleeping, but I have left packing to the last minute yet again. I think it seems to be some sort of tradition for me.
Yes, by the grace of Yeezus, I am going home for Thanksgiving. It's only going to be for a couple days but that is enough for me. I mainly just want to see some awesome peeps, eat food that I didn't buy or make, and take a break from Santa Cruz for even just a little.

I decided I would just do a quick post about my current favorite thing at the moment which is this dress.

It's kind of perfect really, especially since I had been looking for something exactly like this for ages and then it just showed up at work. Smiles.
Also can we please talk about how wonderful Catching Fire was? Go see it if you haven't.

By the way ya'll should watch this version of Kanye's weird ass music video. Thousand times better.

Watch me as I glide...

It's that time of year again, everyone!
It's the time when we look back at the memories we've made this past year, whether it's the adventures or the mistakes, and we wipe that clean and start over. Smiles.
2012 was pretty good for me, unexpected but pretty good. I always say unexpected is a good thing. If everything was predictable, we'd lead boring lives and that's not fun. So I hope 2012 was good for you guys too. Here are my favorite moments.

Take me home...

THRIFTED TOP/ VINTAGE PANTS AND BELT/ HEADBAND - F21/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS/ REVLON LIPSTICK IN BLACKBERRY

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Sorry this is so late, but if you follow my Twitter or Insta you may have seen what I was up to at home.
It's my last night home so I thought I'd post tonight. I have to say, even though my break wasn't very long, it was just really nice being home. I can't believe it's been two months.
I've missed this place. It sucks because I didn't have enough time to go to all the places I wanted to go or see a lot of people, but thankfully, winter break is only a couple weeks away. I'll have all the time in the world. Smiles.
So did anyone go Christmas shopping? People are cray.

Live passionately tonight...

So it is Thursday but I have an Inspiration Wednesday for you guys.
I apologize for not doing this yesterday but I am here now and that's all that matters.

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS - ME TOO/ F21 SKINNIES/ VINTAGE BLAZER/ BAG - LIZ CLAIBORNE/ EXPRESS SWEATER/FUR HAT - CABELA'S

My dumb closed eyes. I was just too happy...

Last night I went to Monrovia's Christmas parade and got inspired by all of the Christmas spirit. Also, I watched Elf before I went to sleep too, but anyway. I thought about what to wear to a holiday party since everyone out there has at least one Christmas party to go to during the holidays.
I go to many family parties and friends parties during Christmas and what do I see? A sea of black. Winter time doesn't mean wear black even though I know it makes sense. I've been guilty of wearing the LBD because it just always looks good. You don't have to listen to me (since I'm wearing another black dress this Saturday to a family party), but I think you should. Any color could be worn during the holidays as long as it's done right.
On Thanksgiving, I'm sure all of you watched A Very Gaga Thanksgiving and how incredible it was. Though the majority of what Lady Gaga wore was black, she changed it a couple times and threw in some different colors. I loved every single outfit.

Anyway, smiles.

Watch this amazing music video.

I work out...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I know I did.
I am so exhausted from today's shopping. This will be short unfortunately.
So the title of this post is a little bit of a lie. I haven't stopped eating since I've been home. It's so bad. But awesome. It's just a line from the song my dad hasn't stopped singing since he heard it on the radio.
But anyway. Here are some of photos from my wonderful day. I'll probably update with more. So thankful for everyone in my life.

By the way, I'm thinking about going a little lighter on my ends. Let me know what you think. Smiles.

And my heart died...

SWEATER - EXPRESS/ VINTAGE BLOUSE AND DOONEY & BOURKE BAG/ F21 BLACK SKINNIES/ DEENA & OZZY LACE UP BOOTIES

A very busy Wednesday indeed, but that is no reason to skip our beloved Inspiration Wednesday.
I am finally home in my lovely hometown of Monrovia. I got here last night and it feels like I had never left for Santa Cruz. Smiles.
I had such a long day, got a flu shot, made a crap ton of cake pops (not too bad for my first time, who needs Starbucks? Winky face), then met up with the sister after her work and finally went to see Like Crazy at the Arclight in Sherman Oaks. I loved it because it was Like Crazy, but I have mixed feelings about the entirety of it and the story. I don't know if that makes sense. Oh well, that's why I'm not a movie critic. Just go see it is my advice.

The inspiration for today (especially my outfit choice) comes from two of my favorite bloggers, Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty, and Rumi Neely from Fashiontoast.
I feel that a lot of my styling of outfits and purchases come from these two lovely ladies, especially recently. I find that both of them are edgy yet sophisticated and polished at the same time and I love that. They can wear spikes and have it look proper. It's kind of something I strive for in my looks all the time, and they are the reason I do. I'm almost twenty and I feel
like it's getting to the point where I have to have my own style figured out for the rest of my life. They are helping me find that. Smiles.

Can't wait for Thanksgiving! And shopping, which means, Lust List time.

Who doesn't want to own a pair of red booties???
I love this shirt. I think they're out of black which sucks. But anything from Romwe is kind of awesome. Amazeballs in fact. I'd be happy with any piece of clothing they sell to me. That might be taking it too far but you get it. Smiles.
Do you hate it as much as I do when they turn novels into movies before you get a chance to read them? I don't hate them for doing it, I just kinda hate myself for not getting to it before they do. I need to read this. Two words - Emma and Watson.
I don't even know if these exist anymore, but I saw them on Andy from Style Scrapbook and I fell in love. Enough said.

Have a great holiday all! I know I will.

Take a photograph...

HAT - F21/ VINTAGE BOOTS, DOONEY & BOURKE BAG AND DRESS/ H&M SWEATER/ NYX LIPSTICK IN ULYSSES

So sorry about the late posting. I haven't had internet for the past couple of days and I hate it. Especially being in college and not being able to do anything. But the thought of going home tomorrow is making me feel really good. So excited to see my fam and besties for Thanksgiving.

I couldn't believe my sister and Geo were in Santa Cruz. Veronica and I needed a break from life and that day was perfect. We had yummy Burger and I was really freaking happy.
Enjoy the photos. An Inspiration Wednesday is comin' soon. Smiles.

More lust list for you in the meantime.

I have a new love for trousers. All kinds, tapered and wide. I don't have any wide ones yet so I want.
I have a Polaroid camera I have yet to use. Someone please get me film.
Dylana Suarez from Color Me Nana has these shoes and I fell in love with them. They look good with everything. Everything.
I love the cut of dresses like these. Just anything that's cut like this would be really nice. Love.

So glide away...

VINTAGE BLAZER AND LOUIS VUITTON PURSE/ F21 JEANS, TAUPE CARDIGAN AND TANK/ H&M SCARF/ SHOES - FLEA MARKET/ NYX LIPSTICK IN B52

Happy Saturday!
I just love fall. You know why? Pumpkin Spiced lattes. They are my love every season.
If you follow me on Twitter, I will be posting a photo every time I get one. Let's see how many I have by the end of the season. And Veronica posts pics of her Peppermint White mochas too. Follow her here. Smiles.
I haven't actually dressed up for something in a while because it was raining cats and dogs and I stuck to my big mens Forever 21 jacket and it was all I wore all the time. I figured today was a nice day so I'll dress up. I got the red blazer at Salvation Army and I had yet to wear it but it's my new favorite.

Life is getting so much better. Maybe because I'm going home for Thanksgiving really soon and my sister is coming to visit me this week and bester Kristen is staying in Santa Cruz for a while. Maybe. I'm really excited.
If you haven't heard, I'm doing run crew for a show at UCSC and the last show is tomorrow. Doing this show made me really miss doing theatre and acting. It made me extremely busy but I am very sure I will miss it a lot afterward.
Oh and I dyed my hair again but it's fading. Again. I need a lighter color.
Lately, I've been busy with the show, eating lots of food, trying to study, and playing Modern Warfare 3 with Veronica. Smiles.
Anyway. I'm excited for life. What are you all excited for?

Here are some more things from the Christmas Lust List.

I need a true red lipstick before I change my mind. This one is gorge. And it's from their new collection.
I love the look of old cameras. Especially when they are not that expensive. And I absolutely love 35 mm cameras.
This film looks so cool when it gets developed. I need to have it for my Nikon 35mm camera.
Ryan Gosling. Enough said.

We are stars...

Warning: Veronica birthday photos overload. Smiles.

Celebration Day #1 (technically #2 since #1 was the Cokes toast)
Veronica and I went to Burger with Norma and Marcy (it was also her birthday) and it was yum. The photos speak for themselves. The shirt I wore I bought that day, and I cut the shoulders off of them. For being the first time I've done it, I was pretty happy with it. And the burger was amazing as always. Oh and horchata shakes. Enough said.

To see the entire day, watch Veronica's birthday video here.

Celebration Day #3
We went to the gym on this day mind you. But that didn't stop us from going to Trader Joe's and buying a meringue cake for Veronica. I have to say it was crazy good. Especially with pumpkin ice cream all over it. Highly recommend it. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of us being gluttonous so that benefits you. Smiles.

Celebration Day #4
Love this day. So Vern and I went on a date downtown to Pizza My Heart which is always good. It was packed so we were lucky we got a table. We took some pictures in the restaurant and went over to this building a couple blocks up and took more pictures. A lot of them were on her film camera so I might update you guys on that. I actually curled my hair for the first time in a while so I felt really girly.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. I'm glad Veronica had a great time even though she wanted to go home for the weekend. I did too, but we had each other and that's always good.
I really miss home. I'm counting the days until Thanksgiving. But Halloween weekend is going to be insane. Veronica and I will probably have a different look each night. I'm excited to show you all. Smiles.
