There are some nights...

THRIFTED DENIM JACKET - DIY/ VINTAGE BUSTIER AND DOONEY BAG/ AMERICAN APPAREL DISCO PANTS/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS/ ASSORTED JEWELRY

I'm back after a very busy weekend in Monrovia. It seemed so short but so much happened.
I finally saw The Avengers with my parents and my sister after lunch at Cheesecake Factory. We celebrated  Mother's Day a week early since I won't be in town next week. We had such a grand time. The Avengers was absolutely amazing. Go see it. I laughed, I cried, I had every emotion a person could possibly have during a movie.
That night we went to see the spring musical along with some other peeps at my high school, The Robber Bridegroom. My sister and I are theatre alumni so we all went to support our director Marc Segal since it was his last show at Monrovia High School. He's retiring from the drama department, so he'll still be teaching English, but it's just weird for me because I can't imagine anyone else running that place. But he will go on to do bigger things in his acting career, I'm sure of it. So it was very bittersweet.
After a very long and fun night with some of my favorite people, I hung out with my family again the next day. We had a yummy lunch and went to a choir concert at my church which was nice. I started choir at my church when I was in fourth grade and stopped in high school so I had a good six years spending time with wonderful people. We're so very much like a family and I love that we still keep in contact with them.
As far as shopping and stuff goes, I didn't buy anything at all this weekend. Yes, what a surprise. Smiles. I thought about it and realized that the weekend was going to be really short, so I would rather spend time and catch up with people I love instead of spending money. It was kind of the best weekend I've had in a while.

Last note, as you can see, my hair is ombréd. These are the first pictures I've posted on here of my hair even though it's been like a week. It's different, but who doesn't like change every once in a while? Yes.
See you soon.

Everything's an embrace...

F21 LEGGINGS AND TANK/ THRIFTED BLAZER WITH VINTAGE PINS/ OVER THE KNEE BOOTS - ME TOO/ NYX LIPSTICK IN B52

Goodbye all black!
This was my last black outfit for run crew. I decided to make an outfit post for you all after we striked the stage and dressing room and everything was clean. I was really bummed to see it all go away. I'm going to miss giggling with the girls on the headset and running around telling actors what to do and hearing scandalous stories.
This blazer is still a work in progress as you can maybe tell. I got inspiration from Effy in the show Skins. Her jacket is amazeballs. I just need more pins.

More from the Christmas Lust List. Smiles.

I would love an ankle boot that I can wear with anything and that has a small chunky heel perfect for any occasion. This is what I would want them to look like. They don't even have to be these exact ones, I just want a pair.
Surprisingly I don't have a big scarf that isn't a tube scarf or an infinity scarf. I love this red one. It's so Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie.
These shirts are all I hear about everywhere. I kinda want to see what all the fuss is about. I also think that anything worn by the Olsen twins is amazeballs.
I'm not one to have more than one hole in my ears so I love the idea of ear cuffs. Also, this one is super cool. It's so different from every other one I've seen. I want it.

So excited for this week. Love you all.

So glide away...

VINTAGE BLAZER AND LOUIS VUITTON PURSE/ F21 JEANS, TAUPE CARDIGAN AND TANK/ H&M SCARF/ SHOES - FLEA MARKET/ NYX LIPSTICK IN B52

Happy Saturday!
I just love fall. You know why? Pumpkin Spiced lattes. They are my love every season.
If you follow me on Twitter, I will be posting a photo every time I get one. Let's see how many I have by the end of the season. And Veronica posts pics of her Peppermint White mochas too. Follow her here. Smiles.
I haven't actually dressed up for something in a while because it was raining cats and dogs and I stuck to my big mens Forever 21 jacket and it was all I wore all the time. I figured today was a nice day so I'll dress up. I got the red blazer at Salvation Army and I had yet to wear it but it's my new favorite.

Life is getting so much better. Maybe because I'm going home for Thanksgiving really soon and my sister is coming to visit me this week and bester Kristen is staying in Santa Cruz for a while. Maybe. I'm really excited.
If you haven't heard, I'm doing run crew for a show at UCSC and the last show is tomorrow. Doing this show made me really miss doing theatre and acting. It made me extremely busy but I am very sure I will miss it a lot afterward.
Oh and I dyed my hair again but it's fading. Again. I need a lighter color.
Lately, I've been busy with the show, eating lots of food, trying to study, and playing Modern Warfare 3 with Veronica. Smiles.
Anyway. I'm excited for life. What are you all excited for?

Here are some more things from the Christmas Lust List.

I need a true red lipstick before I change my mind. This one is gorge. And it's from their new collection.
I love the look of old cameras. Especially when they are not that expensive. And I absolutely love 35 mm cameras.
This film looks so cool when it gets developed. I need to have it for my Nikon 35mm camera.
Ryan Gosling. Enough said.

Standing on my own two feet...

Just another day at school.
I wore this outfit to class yesterday. This was before it started raining hard as balls. It was a very good break from the all the black I have to wear for the show. And it was just a comfortable outfit to wear. But I apologize for my weirdness in the pictures. I had no idea I was going to put this outfit in a post.

So over the past couple of days, I have been in a little funk with life here in Santa Cruz. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love it here. But I need a break. I not only want to go home, I NEED to go home. Even for a little bit. I am going banana sandwich here. I can't wait for the sister and bester to visit me here. And I abso-freaking-lutely can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving. I know I said that in the last post, but I can't say it enough.

But enough of the pity party.
As promised, here are more things from the Christmas Lust List, which always makes me smile.

I have always wanted a pair like this. Always. Because everyone knows that they will never go out of style ever.
2. Adam Levine (Just kidding.) Who The Fuck Is Mick Jagger shirt mens M
This shirt is kinda legendary. Originally worn by Keith Richards and now sexy Adam Levine in his "Moves Like Jagger" video. I want.
I have a new love for weird-looking maxi skirts. This one is lovely.
This camera is amazing. I've seen the pictures it takes because Rosee Rose has one and it's just fun times. I feel like I have too many cameras but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. Smiles.

Run faster, jump higher...

This is what an actress doing tech looks like.

Oh so busy! But happy November everyone!
For the first time ever, I'm on run crew for a play instead of acting in it. It's very different but I actually really love it. It's called Let's Murder the Moonshine and I think it's pretty awesome.
I was told to wear all black, but being the little drama queen I am I had to add a little pizzazz to the all black. This is one of my favorite sweaters ever. I haven't worn it in forever and I'm so glad I brought it to Santa Cruz with me. So soft.
But anyway, I am looking forward to wearing all black this week and next week for the run of the show.

Other news:
If you haven't already noticed my hair is ombré. I dyed it about a week ago. It's faded a little bit, but don't you fret, I'm dying it again to make it a little lighter. I really like it. My hair has been
dark dark brown for almost twenty years. I felt it was time for a change. Even a small one.

So it is November, which means it's time for the holidays. That makes me extremely happy. I get to go home and see my lovely friends and family, who I miss a lot.
Every Thanksgiving I debut my Christmas Lust List to my family but I decided to do something
a little different this year. Every other blog post this month and next I will post a couple of things on the list for my secret messengers (*cough* sissy and K-Fed).
So without further ado:

Veronica's boyfriend bought this for her and it came in the mail last week. I got a good look at it and it's gorge. I love.
I want another wolf shirt. Enough said.
I don't know if these are still online but I want something like them. I know Romwe has a pair like them, which are good too. They're fun.
I found this beautiful bracelet on the wonderful blog Color Me Nana, by Dylana Suarez and I fell in love. How could you not? So simple. So edgy.

Anyway. Smiles.

And I'm whole...

Oh the heat.
I haven't posted in a couple days. I'm blaming everything on the heat. Oh, and my mom turned 58 this weekend too. We celebrated all Saturday and Sunday. Woo.
First, my parents and I went to see The Real Love musical and Don McLean at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and I was really happy with it. My dad bought the tickets on a whim and we were really surprised how the musical turned out. And Don McLean was awesome. That is all.
Yesterday we met up with my sister and got some lunch at Cafe Bizou (yum) and then we saw One Day. I've wanted to read the book and watch the movie for some time now, and I'm glad we saw it because it was simply beautiful. It's been getting really bad reviews which I don't understand because it wasn't terrible at all. It was the opposite. And I'm glad I enjoyed it.
I had no idea what to wear. All I was thinking was to stay cool somehow. I've been wearing a lot of skirts. I haven't worn this great pleated gray skirt in a very long time so I thought why not?
Oh and that's me in the picture I gave my mom. Smiles.
Some photos for you to enjoy.

Other news.

1. I'm getting a little obsessed with the Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoe. I've mentioned them already before which shows how much I love them. I'm all about cheap thrills, you know that. But I have to get these shoes. Like unhealthy I need these shoes. I feel like these will never go out of style since they're not so over the top and the fact that everyone has them. And if they do go out of style, oh well. I'll still love em. My goal is to get them by Thanksgiving since that will be the first break I have from school. Hopefully I get them before then because again, I need them in my life.

2. I'm reading again which is good. I think it's the heat. I cannot stay in my house since it's always brutally hot so I go out and sit on my porch and just read and I occasionally people watch, and tweet random things. Right now I'm reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro which is going well. And yesterday I bought Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart, which I heard was pretty good. Can't wait to read it.

3. The VMA's were last night. A couple things: The Best Way to Tell the World That You're Pregnant Award went to Beyoncé when she opened her lovely sequined Dolce & Gabbana jacket to reveal her baby bump. Adele was simply amazing and she sang my favorite song by her "Someone Like You." Beautiful. I want to see her live. And lastly, Ms. Gaga wowed me just as much as last year, but she didn't need a meat dress or a giant egg this time. I adore her. As well as Jo Calderone.

That is all. Thanks for listening.

And we're coming to town...

I'm feeling a little different. I'm finally going out tonight with some friends, even if it's just for boba. A lot of people in my life have left for school already and yes I know it's just for school but I'm feeling just a little bit lonely. I still have a little less than a month until I go back to Santa Cruz. That's feeling like a long time to me. But I thought about it, and I decided to spend as much time with the friends that are still here before I go back to school. Crisis handled.

So anyway when I was cleaning up today, I looked on Twitter and saw that the new promo for the third season of Glee came out today, which features the cast being pelted by dodgeballs. That's one video I saw of them today. The second was their promo for Fashion's Night Out on Sept. 8th in which the cast (missing the lovely Naya Rivera) looked absolutely gorgeous. It made me really happy that Chord Overstreet was still in the video even though he won't be a regular on the show anymore. The man is gorgeous. I couldn't decide which of the guys looked the most yum - Darren Criss in all red? Mark Salling strutting around in his aviators? Chord Overstreet and Cory Monteith in their sexy suits? Can't decide. What I did decide is that I want Lea Michele's super glam sequin dresses. Oh and the fact that they covered Sir David Bowie made me extremely happy.

Speaking of the beautiful cast, two of their lovely ladies are cover girls for magazines of the month of September. Love them.

Absolutely can't wait for season three Sept. 20th. Smiles.

I dreamed a dream...

So last night my ultimate bester Kristen had her wonderful senior recital titled Long, Long Road, and I was so happy for her. We had lots of music, laughs, and cries and it seeing her up on that stage made me really sad to think about her leaving for BYU next year. It was definitely a beautiful night and everyone looked beautiful. I got to have many costume changes which made me excited because people don't like to dress up nowadays, but I always do. So I got to sing with the bester and the rest of the lovely people who were part of her cast and we danced to what else? Gaga. You can see the super awesome dance, choreographed by Kristen's older sister Stephanie here. I bought a new black dress just for the finale and I'm in love with it. It reminds me of the American Apparel one that I mentioned before, but it's better because it's black and it's real lace. I still want the one from AA but that can wait now.
My mother and sister took many wonderful pictures so I will share them with you all. Smiles.

I may be bad...

Now I know a lot of people hate her, but I love Kristen Stewart. I don't know why people don't like her. She has great style, a hot man, hair that does whatever she wants it to do, movies that are making her a fortune. Yeah sure, she's alright at the acting thing but come on who cares?

So I've been really busy rehearsing for bestie Kristen's senior recital this week and I realized I didn't get to post anything about the MTV Movie Awards so I'm going to do that now.
Kristen Stewart likes to take risks on the red carpet which I love. And I love when a celebrity has a dress that gets haters and lovers. I thought her red Balmain minidress was amazing and the fact that it has safety pins all over it and I still like it makes it great because I don't usually like punky clothing.
Also her hair is effortless. She makes me miss not having bangs.

Oh and another thing - her nail color. It's like a dark navy blue and I want it now. I looked it up and of course it's Essie. It's called "Midnight Cami." Love.

Anyway.

I'm gonna drink my tears tonight...

Lady Gaga walked in the Thierry Mugler Womenswear AutumnWinter fashion show.
She is what we call fierce.

And a new song from her upcoming album played during the show called Government Hooker.
Love it.

Baby I like it...

This past weekend was a big blur.
I saw a wonderful musical at the Duarte Performing Arts Center with my besties as the leads. They did Beauty and the Beast and it was beautiful. The theatre was packed. I got to dress up for the first time this summer. Then again, my dressing up is a plain tee and a skirt or jeans and a nice shirt. I need to wear heels more often. Or just be fancy for no reason at all. Now I'm rambling.

This was the first time I wore the brocade skirt I fixed up in a while and it felt pretty good. I love when I have DIY projects that turn out nicely.

Anyway, so Saturday, my parents and I left for Santa Cruz since I had Orientation to go to and we had a great time. I walked around the city, met new people, and explored my campus. Photos from that will be up soon.

I need to go shopping. That is all.
Smiles.

Serait-ce possible alors...

I am in love with everything French. And I am in love with Vogue. And after looking at Marion Cotillard wearing Dior in this month's issue of Vogue, you should be too. This is now one of my favorite Vogue covers. Love her.

I'm in such an interesting mood today. I don't know what it is.
I guess I'm really tired. Yesterday, we had a lot of family over for a reunion of sorts and I watched kiddies all day and accumulated food babies in my belly. This morning, some of the family staying at our house left for San Francisco, including Michelle. I miss that little girl already. They're coming back next weekend but I have to get used to it. I saw my sis for a little bit for lunch in LA today again, which was very good. Also the man, Andy, left for a family vacation so I said goodbye to him as well. Not going to be back for a couple weeks. Now I sit at my computer watching reruns of What I Like About You (yes, I watch that show).
Yeah so odd mood. I think I just miss a bunch of people.

That's loved by you...

So. Last night I did my last show for a Monrovia High School production.
It was very sad, especially when we were singing our finale after the bows. Bester Eddie started crying during the last number which made me almost start crying. But after the show when we were giving out cast gifts, the moment Mr. Segal said "Seniors step forward" I started crying a ton. Everyone started crying a ton. I will definitely miss these moments.

It's getting down to the wire. I'm really sad it's ending.
All of my biggest supporters were there and it made me incredibly happy.

Brighter notes: cast parties at Denny's are the best. Two different Denny's in two nights. Woo!

I know now...

TGIF

So last night was opening night of the show and it was great.

It was actually a pretty good turn out for a Thursday night. But after tonight's show I realized that my senior year is very close to coming to an end. This morning the seniors had a meeting about cap and gowns. I'm halfway done with AP tests since I have two more next week. My senior prom is in three weeks. I started the run of my last show at Monrovia High School last night and it's going to fly past me so fast that I can't even appreciate it as it's happening.
I am certain I will cry on the last night.

Anyway, happier notes. This morning, Andy and I didn't have to stay to pick up cap and gown stuff since we have our siblings ones to wear. So instead of waiting in a long line, we left to go see this:

So freaking good. Robert Downey Jr. End of story.

Marcie and Peppermint Patty.
Smiles.
