I feel we're close enough...

Yes I know it's been too long, over a week now I haven't talked to you guys at all.
Work and school have been the usual, you know, taking turns in stressing me out, also maintaining a social life. I forgot that I have this space to just be happy and calm for a short while and tell you guys what I've been up to.

I haven't done it in a really long time so I thought I would just show you my recent life through my Instagram photos (if you don't follow me, but if you do, this post is irrelevant).
Anyway, enjoy.

Definitely want to post an actual outfit soon!
Also I'm thinking of making some changes to my hair but I have no idea what I want at the moment. I will certainly update you on those later.
Anyway. See you soon. xx

I see right through you...

I might just talk today since I haven't done that in a while. Maybe I'll put some pictures up from Memorial Day weekend. We'll see how I'm feeling by the end of this.
First off, happy June to all. I posted a total of three times last month which is not good. Only one of the posts was an Inspiration Wednesday too, so I feel bad about neglecting that. I'm almost done with school this year, only a couple weeks until I go home, so I'm counting the days. And I will definitely post a lot more this summer. Smiles.

This past weekend was somewhat enjoyable. I got to spend a lot of time with my family and friends which is always good. We all went to the fiesta, ate yummy food, and had a grand old time. I even had time for some retail therapy and bought some stuff. Maybe you guys will see them in a outfit post pretty soon.

So that was nice. If you follow me on Twitter or Tumblr, you may already know how I'm feeling up here in Santa Cruz. Some stuff happened a couple days ago over the weekend, and it's literally exhausting me. I'm just annoyed and tired of it all, every day I'm just kinda bummed out and all I want to do is eat food and watch Netflix in the comfort of my room. I don't usually tell people why I'm feeling a certain way, but that's my cross to bear I guess. Also, the having to go to school part of all this just puts another damper on what I want to do. But I guess that's life. You think it's going a certain way and then it becomes a crap festival, and everyone only cares about their problems. So yeah that's basically how I'm feeling right now.
This whole week has just been really weird. That Monday off of school kinda threw me off too. I want to go home so badly and hang out with my sister who is basically the only person I can count on. I love that lady.

But enough of me pooping on your party. I'll reward you beautiful people for getting through me talking my face off and complaining. Here are some captures of my weekend with lovely people.

Sorry if this was super long and annoying. Just wanted to put some stuff out there. Maybe I should start making rant videos on Youtube. Anyway, I'll see you soon. Hopefully I'll be in a better mood. All I can say is thank God it's Friday. Maybe I'll have a date night with my girl Veronica. We deserve it.
Love you all.

The simple thought of you...

For Inspiration Wednesday today, I thought I would bring you something that I've been obsessing over ever since I got my phone, so it's been a couple months now. I've talked about this before in a collective Inspiration Wednesday and some of my other posts, but I figured I would dedicate an entire post to it. Yes, I'm talking about Instagram!
It's weird because it's basically Twitter since on Twitter you can put pictures up along with your tweets but I feel like it's so much more fun. I love seeing what people put on there because they're so random and I love it.
I also love it because if I don't feel like doing a formal blog post about my outfit, I still sneak a photo in there for people to see. It's casual and it's really fun seeing what other bloggers and friends are doing at the moment.
So if you don't follow me on Instagram or don't have Instagram, here are some of my recent photos that are on there and you should get one and follow me - @queenvictoriareigns. Smiles.

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week. I will hopefully blog this weekend in Monrovia. If you want to see me and my shenanigans in the meantime, follow me on Instagram - @queenvictoriareigns.

Shake it out...

So I have about an hour until 2012 gets here so I'll hurry it up.

I just wanted to say that 2011 wasn't exactly what I would have hoped it would be. I think I pretty much summed it up on Twitter when I said that the theme of 2011 for me was that sometimes, things don't always go as planned, even though you plan out every detail. But that's what a new year is all about. It's time to say goodbye to mistakes and welcome in some new mistakes. But that's life, and we still love it.

Though it wasn't what I expected, there were still some great adventures. I'll leave you with some of my favorite moments of this year. Smiles.

Every time she closed her eyes...

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed me saying something about a little thing called Inspiration Wednesday.

I realized that I have things in my life that get me through the day most of the time, and these can be anything ranging from my thoughts to what foods I've been wanting or eating to people that play a role in my life. I thought I would share them with you every Wednesday because first, everyone needs a little something to give them a boost on Hump Day. I know I do. Also, this will keep me blogging at least once a week even if I get too busy to post anything else during the week. I can't abandon this blog again. I did once and I regret it very much. I'm glad I'm back and happy that all of you care about what I have to say. Smiles.

But anyway. This first Inspiration Wednesday consists of my current loves at the moment which makes me very happy.

1. Free People's November catalog. If you haven't looked through it yet, you're missin' out. I love how they go through the decades and the different amazing styles each one had.
2. Studs and spikes. I have been obsessed with them since I made shorts for myself and my sister. I'm ordering them in bulk now since I feel like studding everything I effing own. And these Jeffrey Campbell spiked Litas are gorge. They are the next Jeffrey Campbells I will buy for sure.
3. Supernovae. I'm currently in an astronomy class this quarter and right now we're learning about supernovae. I absolutely love what a supernova looks like. Anything with a galaxy print I love. It reminds me of the Christopher Kane Galaxy Collection. And yes I want all of it.
4. Like Crazy. I posted the trailer for this movie on here about a month ago or something and I can't wait to see it with my sister when I go home for Thanksgiving. It's beautiful to look at and I will be posting about it again in the near future.

So I hope you all enjoyed Inspiration Wednesday.
Here are more things on the Christmas Lust List that you can enjoy as well. Smiles.

This dress might not be on the site anymore which is really sad because it's my favorite dress from ASOS, along with this one and this one. It's gorge. Love paisley prints.
Such a good album to have on vinyl. If you don't love Justin Vernon, there's something wrong with you. Beautiful.
I have mentioned this sexy shoe briefly before. It's a great black pump to wear with any dress and it's simple but it still has an edge and that's what I love.
I've posted about this nail polish before when I saw it on Kristen Stewart. Still want it.

Anyway. xo

And I'm whole...

Oh the heat.
I haven't posted in a couple days. I'm blaming everything on the heat. Oh, and my mom turned 58 this weekend too. We celebrated all Saturday and Sunday. Woo.
First, my parents and I went to see The Real Love musical and Don McLean at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and I was really happy with it. My dad bought the tickets on a whim and we were really surprised how the musical turned out. And Don McLean was awesome. That is all.
Yesterday we met up with my sister and got some lunch at Cafe Bizou (yum) and then we saw One Day. I've wanted to read the book and watch the movie for some time now, and I'm glad we saw it because it was simply beautiful. It's been getting really bad reviews which I don't understand because it wasn't terrible at all. It was the opposite. And I'm glad I enjoyed it.
I had no idea what to wear. All I was thinking was to stay cool somehow. I've been wearing a lot of skirts. I haven't worn this great pleated gray skirt in a very long time so I thought why not?
Oh and that's me in the picture I gave my mom. Smiles.
Some photos for you to enjoy.

Other news.

1. I'm getting a little obsessed with the Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoe. I've mentioned them already before which shows how much I love them. I'm all about cheap thrills, you know that. But I have to get these shoes. Like unhealthy I need these shoes. I feel like these will never go out of style since they're not so over the top and the fact that everyone has them. And if they do go out of style, oh well. I'll still love em. My goal is to get them by Thanksgiving since that will be the first break I have from school. Hopefully I get them before then because again, I need them in my life.

2. I'm reading again which is good. I think it's the heat. I cannot stay in my house since it's always brutally hot so I go out and sit on my porch and just read and I occasionally people watch, and tweet random things. Right now I'm reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro which is going well. And yesterday I bought Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart, which I heard was pretty good. Can't wait to read it.

3. The VMA's were last night. A couple things: The Best Way to Tell the World That You're Pregnant Award went to Beyoncé when she opened her lovely sequined Dolce & Gabbana jacket to reveal her baby bump. Adele was simply amazing and she sang my favorite song by her "Someone Like You." Beautiful. I want to see her live. And lastly, Ms. Gaga wowed me just as much as last year, but she didn't need a meat dress or a giant egg this time. I adore her. As well as Jo Calderone.

That is all. Thanks for listening.

Your lipstick stains...

So I finally saw Black Swan and I really liked it.
I knew Rodarte was doing the costuming of the movie which made me really happy. It made me think if Hubert de Givenchy doing the costumes for Audrey Hepburn in her movies.
I would love to do the styling for a movie. That is one of my many dreams.
Their designs were beautiful.

Just thought I'd share the beauty.

Found you tripping on the stars...

Emma Watson, I love you dearly.
She is perfect and an inspiration.
I can't wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I.
Everyone should buy the new December issue of Marie Claire with Miss Emma on the cover. I already did.
Smiles.

I believe...

Today has been an odd day. So I am going to do something I don't usually do on this.
I am going to just write what I'm feeling.
That is a first.
Because I never tell anybody what I'm feeling, which is a little bit of a bad thing.

So first, I'm feeling nervous about what's to come. That means the party I'm supposed to be the highlight of, the play that I am the lead in, my grades in school, and the spring musical. I am also nervous about the big things like, if I get accepted to college, what college I will be going to, my career, what I'm planning to do with my life, who I'm going to be with for the rest of my life, the people I will meet, where I'll be living, and what the rest of my life holds ahead of me.

I feel disappointed in people. You think you know someone, especially since you've known each other for about five or six years. He helped me with my relationships, my family problems, practically everything and it seems that all of that doesn't matter because we don't talk anymore. I have been replaced. I lost one of my best friends. It's pretty unfortunate, really.
He is still invited to my party but it's clear he doesn't want to go. He was even a rose for the rose and candle ceremony, where eighteen of my closest make a speech about me. I am very sad that he no longer wants to be a part of my life in that way.

I seem to question a lot of things right now. What does life really mean? Will I just be one of those people that follow a schedule? Will my entire life be a schedule? Are people just going to keep telling me what to do? Take this class, be there at this time, buy this, don't do that. I don't want to be that person. I want to die knowing that I have lived my life to the fullest. Someone important to me taught me that very recently and I think I should listen to him. I think I'm questioning all of this because I have been listening to the Spring Awakening soundtrack.

I'm really excited. Especially because Christmas is in a few days. I'm also excited for my birthday party even though I'm going to be put on display for everyone to see. But I'm glad it's happening because I want people to see the real me. People from different parts of my life are going to be in one place and see how I am with everyone I love. I'm excited to see the fall play which shouldn't be called the fall play since it's in January. I have to cry in the show. That is really hard for me to do because I'm more comfortable doing comedy than drama. My sister is the one that excels in drama. I'm also just excited for the rest of my life. I want to see the world. I want to have an adventure and be happy. Is that too much to ask?

Hmm. I really want a burger right now.

11.22.2009

I wonder if you know yourself at all...

So I have no voice. One of the many problems in my life right now. However, I will not turn this into one of those depressing blogs that nobody wants to read.

But it is very hard to be a loud person when no sound comes out.

Oh I also don't enjoy being at home at the moment.
And my best friend doesn't have a phone.
But Thanksgiving break is a week and I am stuck here.

Thankfully photofunia exists.

Now put your hands up...

My sister is sexy.

This is one of the great pictures that her hubby took of her for a photo shoot.
She is an inspiration.
Enough said.

If I was a singer, I would want to sing songs like this woman.
