See I'm not afraid no more...

So I'm a little late on showing you guys my birthday shenanigans, but my birthday literally lasted for days. I went home to my parents' house to celebrate and I had an amazing chill time. My senior class president from high school also planned a small reunion for the 2010 class and we all went banana sandwich catching up and what not. It was great and weird and everything I expected from my high school peeps. Then I got back to Santa Cruz and was greeted by more birthday surprises and it was amazing. I love my people. Smiles.

I start class this week so it might be a while before I post again. However it is one of my New Year's resolutions to post more outfits for you all either on the blog or on Instagram or both.
2014 had a little bit of a rocky start so another resolution of mine is to focus on the things that make me happy because I've noticed that it's very easy for me to throw a pity party whenever I feel like it and I don't want to do that anymore. Some great changes happened in 2013 and I plan on having more great changes in my life this year.

Oh and this song makes me happy. See if it makes you happy too. Smiles.

And time is frozen...

I'm back in Santa Cruz after the blur that was my holiday.
My Thanksgiving was really short and sweet. I had a couple days to see my favorite people and it was all I needed. My parents drove me back and they are currently still here enjoying Santa Cruz.
I'm surprised I even have the time to post since I'm working this whole weekend. I worked yesterday, yes I worked Black Friday. Not something to be desired.

But anyway, here are some snaps of what I wore on Thanksgiving.

I saw this dress at work about two months ago and I knew I wanted to wear it on Thanksgiving. I'm really digging dark florals for the holiday season and this was kinda perfect.
I was really bummed out when I thought I wasn't going to get to come home this year, but it all worked out. So it's a happy story. Smiles.

Just hold on we're going home...

I know I know! It's been like a week since I've posted which is really bad.
I mean I was home so I was rarely near a computer, I was going out every night and spending time with people. I got back to Santa Cruz on Sunday and then worked for the next couple of days and then hung out with more amazeballs people that I missed. I was in my own little world with them. To be honest, I'm really happy, which is new for me if you didn't know. You guys who have been reading for a while know that when post something personal on this it's a big deal, and it's usually about problems in my life. But this time it's not so be happy that I'm happy.

Anyway enough with the excuses. I have also missed you amazeballs peeps so I thought I would have a little chat with you before my first class as a senior which is really scary to think about but I kinda stoked on it.
My sissy bear turned 28 this past Saturday and I already miss that lady. I spent the whole day with her and our bam fam and also Veronica since we were lucky enough to still have her in town. And I also spent the night at her house which was super fun. We were in one of my favorite places ever, Pasadena, and we just had a grand old time. Smiles.

I'll update you more on the past week or so when I get more time. Wish me luck on my first day!
Also you will get the rest of the Fashion Week stuffs soon too.

Just let me liberate you...

Okay I know I said I was going to post something while I was home last week but it kinda got a little too busy and hectic and all that jazz.
The first couple of days being in Monrovia were pretty awesome. I got to see so many people I haven't seen in such a long time it was surprisingly really great. Then I left for Vegas with my family for my momma's 60th birthday and we all had a blasty blast.
I thought I would start with our first night there. We got there and it was raining! But of course it was still hot as balls. Good thing it cleared up by the time we went out to dinner. We had a wonderful dinner at the Barrymore in old Vegas and then had copious amounts of drinks at the Cosmopolitan. Of course after that we gambled. Smiles.
Now I don't really have any proper photos of my outfit but I do have some great photos from that night taken by my cool brother-in-law George. He basically was the photographer the entire trip and he got some great shots.

I'll post about the other nights soon!
Love you babes. xox

Give me that thing that I love...

Now I wasn't planning on posting this outfit but I thought hey why don't I actually do what I promise to do on my blog and actually show them what I wear. Plus this day was nice, it was a casual day, I got paid, went shopping, had some frozen yogurt which is always great. It also felt like summer to me. It was hot as balls, well for Santa Cruz anyway. I might die from the heat when I go to Vegas. At least I have some time in LA to adjust to the weather.

A couple things:
- The next time I see you, I might already be in Monrovia. I'm super stoked about that.
- In the meantime, follow my social media thangs, God knows I have enough of them (twitter, vine, insta, tumblr, you name it).
- Gaga's video for "Applause" is out and after two years of no music from her, it's about damn time.

It's a long drive, and it's summer...

I'm back in good old Monrovia!
It's a nice break to have since I've just been working my summer away. I mean we're already in the middle of July, when did that happen? So anyway, I'm here for a couple of days to just chill and of course to celebrate my dear dad's birthday which is tomorrow. Happy times.
I don't know how much I'll be blogging this weekend so check out my Instagram to see what I'm up to. All of my info is at the end of each of my posts.

So here is what I wore today. I realize I post outfits a lot when I'm somewhere I haven't been to in a while. Just a random thought. Basically I hung out with the bam fam all day and then had dinner in Pasadena which was pretty cool. It was a pretty comfy cozy outfit.

ASOS CROP TOP/ VINTAGE PANTS/ SUPERGA PLATFORMS/ ASSORTED JEWELRY/ LIMECRIME VELVETINES IN RED VELVET

I absolutely love these pants. You know me and velvet. They're just super soft and actually thin enough that I was pretty cool and breezy when I was wearing them. It's definitely not the time for velvet but they worked great. As for my shoes, it was a struggle but I finally got them and I'm so happy. I knew I wanted a pair of creepers but I wasn't really sold on the big fat creepers that everyone has already. I found the Superga platforms and they are the best thing ever. I also want to give my poor Keds a break. They are so busted and I've only had them for a year. Anyway.

See you soon. xo

You make me glow...

This week has been weird. Has this week been weird to you? I don't know. Maybe it's because I spent this last weekend at home and I'm still recovering. I just want it to be the weekend already.
So I basically hung out with my family all weekend and had a grand old time just chilling. I missed home a ton so it was good going back for a little.

It was nice being back especially because I'm actually staying in Santa Cruz this summer until I graduate next year. Yay! I just found out yesterday that the place that we wanted just approved us and I'm super stoked on that. It's really exciting to actually move into a new place by yourself that's not on campus or your parents' house ya know. I can't wait. Smiles.

THRIFTED SKIRT/ CROP TOP FROM ASOS/ ASSORTED JEWELRY/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL COLTRANE BOOTS

Besides being stoked about all about that good stuff, I think just being in a new environment will be good for me. I'll definitely miss a bunch of people from Monrovia but I think meeting new people is great. This might be too much info but I've said worse on this blog before, I mean I think. Save for a few people, my friends suck. I don't know if "friends" is even the right word anymore. I can't wait to see who will actually take the time to visit me over the summer. I can't wait for summer.
But anyway, not going to bring you down. This is a good thing. Smiles.
Oh and I promise to try and blog more often. xo

By the way, no judging, but I'm kind of obsessed with this song. Sang it all weekend with my sister.

Give a little time to me...

So I guess I was just kidding about blogging before leaving for spring break.
I had work every day this past week so I didn't have time to post anything but now that I am officially home, I have a fun post for you all.
Of course, the first full day I'm back, where do I go? Yes, Topshop. I swear, actually earning money is difficult for me because I just buy shit and that's not good. I mean it's great but it's not good.
But anyway, yeah I got to run around LA with my fam (in our matching black and white outfits by the way haha) and it was grand.

It's been nice being home. I'm seeing my sis again this weekend so that's going to be fun.
Lately I've been loving just sleeping in and driving around at night with Christine and our shenanigans. I can always count on her to randomly run around Monrovia with me. Smiles.
Hopefully I can get another post in this week before I go back to SC.

THRIFTED TOP/ VINTAGE PANTS AND BELT/ HEADBAND - F21/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS/ REVLON LIPSTICK IN BLACKBERRY

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Sorry this is so late, but if you follow my Twitter or Insta you may have seen what I was up to at home.
It's my last night home so I thought I'd post tonight. I have to say, even though my break wasn't very long, it was just really nice being home. I can't believe it's been two months.
I've missed this place. It sucks because I didn't have enough time to go to all the places I wanted to go or see a lot of people, but thankfully, winter break is only a couple weeks away. I'll have all the time in the world. Smiles.
So did anyone go Christmas shopping? People are cray.
x

There are some nights...

THRIFTED DENIM JACKET - DIY/ VINTAGE BUSTIER AND DOONEY BAG/ AMERICAN APPAREL DISCO PANTS/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS/ ASSORTED JEWELRY

I'm back after a very busy weekend in Monrovia. It seemed so short but so much happened.
I finally saw The Avengers with my parents and my sister after lunch at Cheesecake Factory. We celebrated  Mother's Day a week early since I won't be in town next week. We had such a grand time. The Avengers was absolutely amazing. Go see it. I laughed, I cried, I had every emotion a person could possibly have during a movie.
That night we went to see the spring musical along with some other peeps at my high school, The Robber Bridegroom. My sister and I are theatre alumni so we all went to support our director Marc Segal since it was his last show at Monrovia High School. He's retiring from the drama department, so he'll still be teaching English, but it's just weird for me because I can't imagine anyone else running that place. But he will go on to do bigger things in his acting career, I'm sure of it. So it was very bittersweet.
After a very long and fun night with some of my favorite people, I hung out with my family again the next day. We had a yummy lunch and went to a choir concert at my church which was nice. I started choir at my church when I was in fourth grade and stopped in high school so I had a good six years spending time with wonderful people. We're so very much like a family and I love that we still keep in contact with them.
As far as shopping and stuff goes, I didn't buy anything at all this weekend. Yes, what a surprise. Smiles. I thought about it and realized that the weekend was going to be really short, so I would rather spend time and catch up with people I love instead of spending money. It was kind of the best weekend I've had in a while.

Last note, as you can see, my hair is ombréd. These are the first pictures I've posted on here of my hair even though it's been like a week. It's different, but who doesn't like change every once in a while? Yes.
See you soon.

No one compares to you...

Part 3 of my spring break posts: Sister time!

Last week I slept over my sister's house. I try to do that as much as I can when I'm home because I love that lady a lot. Of course we had a crap ton of fun. We watched a couple movies, had some wine and an amazing dinner made by Geo. The next day the two of us went over to Old Town Pasadena for some sushi and shopping. We ordered a little too much but it was yummy anyway. We made a whole day of just walking around Pasadena and eating macarons.
I got to finally wear the heels I bought a while ago. They only started hurting after about three hours or so. It was a good day.
Also, when I got home I got to see my bester than all the rest, Jeff, who I haven't seen in ages. We got caught up and it was great and we were just being us. Smiles. We also hung out with some of the crew which is always fun.

SCARF AND BLOUSE - THRIFTED/ F21 MEN CARDIGAN BORROWED FROM DAD/ COTTON ON SHORTS/ TIGHTS - GIVENCHY/ HEELS - URBAN OUTFITTERS/ MAC VIVA GLAM NICKI LIPSTICK

So I'm leaving for Santa Cruz in a couple of hours. I just thought I'd sneak in another post before I left. I'm really going to miss Monrovia when I go back.
But anyway. I might have a Part 4 consisting of just Instagram photos from my week. I don't know yet. I might be too busy.
See you all very soon hopefully. xo
