I fly through my mind, I take the way I've known...

Sometimes I forget about hobbies, this weird thing humans do when they happen to get break from life and being adults.
I recently had a chat with one of my bests from high school and we both are in that place where all we feel like we're doing is working and sleeping and it's something I do not like at all. I've realized (with a little help and a nudge from a loved one and just thinking about where I am right now) that I need a hobby that's not related to things I do on the daily. I consider blogging a hobby, even though I may not do it often. Also wearing what I wear and taking the time to choose certain outfits and taking photos of them I also consider a hobby. But again, these are things I do every day. For work I'm on a computer 8-9 hours a day which can get old after a while, which is why blogging has been getting put on the back burner even though I very much enjoy doing it.
I've been writing a lot and thinking about things to post on here about, even if they may not be style related. A wonderful YouTuber I happen to be best friends with (and miss very much) said in a video that writing everything down no matter how silly is a great way to stay yourself even though everything outside of that is chaos.
So a couple weeks ago, I did two fun things and had amazing days because I was doing things I enjoyed. The honey and I went on our first trip to Disney together and it was magical and all kinds of awesome. That one is self-explanatory, I cannot wait to go again.
That same week, I did an art thing, which I have not done since my birthday in January. Sometimes I forget why I chose to be an art history major in college so reminders of that really make me happy. My sister and I took a trip to Silver Lake to see what everyone and their mother have been taking photos of since April. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I went a little cray in taking photos of Projection by artist Vincent Lamouroux. Basically, he took a dilapidated motel, lovingly called "The Bates Motel" on Sunset and covered it entirely in a whitewash, including the palm trees. And of course, it has attracted lost of attention as anything new does in Los Angeles. It's a great disruption and contrast of the way we see things and also a cool backdrop for my photos. I loved that we got to see it when it was gloomy out.

Let's be clear, won't close my eyes...

My sister and I trekked it to Hollywood two weeks ago for a fashion history lesson. And it was free which is always a plus.
We went to see the "Louis Vuitton Series 2 - Past, Present, and Future" exhibit in LA which I thought was pretty great. It was a multi-room exhibit that kinda went through Louis Vuitton's Spring 2015 ready to wear collection. It was all multimedia as well with making of an LV bag videos, inspirational women to the collection, a minimal room that only featured accessories as the focal point, and a "backstage" area that recreates backstage at a fashion show so every room was something different and I felt it was all super nontraditional, something I was expecting from this particular exhibition.
The whole thing lets you walk through at your own pace and even go back if you want to see something again. Every docent was very nice and told us multiple times we were allowed to take photos, which of course I did. I heard it's going to Beijing next.
This happened all before I got sick and icky and just wanted to chill out for a couple weeks.

Sun was shining, I'm positive...

I recently went to Monrovia with my sister to have lunch with our parents and of course it was a good time. We walked around my hometown and took pictures duh. It's always nice having a set schedule for work so I have the time to hang out with my amazing people. I mean I had a set schedule at my last job but it didn't feel that way to me for some reason. Recently I've been having more energy and drive to do things on my days off which is great otherwise they would be wasted and that's not very good. This is what I wore to lunch, a classic outfit, just a blouse and denim shorts, with some new twists. I can go back into the archives and find versions of this exact outfit which is really funny. I still can't believe I got away with wearing this in January. LA weather for you.

Love is too happy to bring me down...

Hi lovelies!
I finally have time to post on here about my spring break I had in LA with the man and the fam.
I'm still currently on spring break at the moment and I'm pretty much just resting now. I have my last quarter before I graduate at UC Santa Cruz starting next week and I'm pretty stoked on that.
So I haven't formally introduced the man on here yet, but you may have seen him a bit in the past couple of posts. The man is Daniel and he's pretty much my favorite. He's been the man for a while now and thinking about that makes me incredibly happy. But enough sappy.
We left for LA last Thursday and right when we got there it was just one thing after another, doing as much as we can, seeing as many people as we can, and then all of a sudden it was over. It was amazingly tiring and awesome at the same time. While we were there, we pretty much just ate food and went shopping and that was fine by us. It was very good to have him in my hometown and show him around and what not. This picture spam coming at you was our last full day in LA. We hung out with my fam at the Fairfax flea market and the Grove. It was great being in the LA sun.

A lot of things are going to be happening in the near future so hopefully I will be updating on all of that. As for now, I am scared and excited about what is to come and happy about everything that is happening now.
See you soon. Smiles. xox

I just started living...

So I know I said I was going to post an outfit before I left for LA but I didn't so I'm sorry about that. Everything was so hectic when we were leaving. I just wanted to spend time with certain people and finish shopping and what not up in Santa Cruz. But anyway.

I just got back to my parents' house from hanging out at my sister's all weekend and of course I had a grand time. We got the traditions done like watching Little Women and taking a Christmas tree picture at the Grove. It was a little short for me but sweet all the same. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my adventures.

As far as my outfit goes, I felt so Christmas-y with the red plaid pants and the fur. But it was a good thing. Also my shoes are a new addition to my collection thanks to the boss man and they're basically perfect. He's a good listener. Smiles.

I'll see you all soon! xo
So excited for Christmas!

Just let me liberate you...

Okay I know I said I was going to post something while I was home last week but it kinda got a little too busy and hectic and all that jazz.
The first couple of days being in Monrovia were pretty awesome. I got to see so many people I haven't seen in such a long time it was surprisingly really great. Then I left for Vegas with my family for my momma's 60th birthday and we all had a blasty blast.
I thought I would start with our first night there. We got there and it was raining! But of course it was still hot as balls. Good thing it cleared up by the time we went out to dinner. We had a wonderful dinner at the Barrymore in old Vegas and then had copious amounts of drinks at the Cosmopolitan. Of course after that we gambled. Smiles.
Now I don't really have any proper photos of my outfit but I do have some great photos from that night taken by my cool brother-in-law George. He basically was the photographer the entire trip and he got some great shots.

I'll post about the other nights soon!
Love you babes. xox

Give me that thing that I love...

Now I wasn't planning on posting this outfit but I thought hey why don't I actually do what I promise to do on my blog and actually show them what I wear. Plus this day was nice, it was a casual day, I got paid, went shopping, had some frozen yogurt which is always great. It also felt like summer to me. It was hot as balls, well for Santa Cruz anyway. I might die from the heat when I go to Vegas. At least I have some time in LA to adjust to the weather.

A couple things:
- The next time I see you, I might already be in Monrovia. I'm super stoked about that.
- In the meantime, follow my social media thangs, God knows I have enough of them (twitter, vine, insta, tumblr, you name it).
- Gaga's video for "Applause" is out and after two years of no music from her, it's about damn time.

Our song on the radio...

Happy April babes!
I'm back in Santa Cruz after a great break. Today was the start of spring quarter and I'm still trying to ease back into the school groove. I absolutely loved being home and seeing the people I love and just chillin', it's like the best thing ever.
My last night of break I spent with my fambam and we frolicked around Old Town Pasadena and had some amazeballs pizza over at The Kitchen. I had slept over my beautiful sissy's house the night before which was perfect. I miss her already. You may have seen some pictures on Instagram. Earlier Saturday, we found this empty parking lot and decided to take our outfit pictures there. It was pretty random but super fun.

Also have you guys been into the monochrome look lately as much as I have? I've been trying to get into the spring colors but I just can't. I love me my black and white.

Give a little time to me...

So I guess I was just kidding about blogging before leaving for spring break.
I had work every day this past week so I didn't have time to post anything but now that I am officially home, I have a fun post for you all.
Of course, the first full day I'm back, where do I go? Yes, Topshop. I swear, actually earning money is difficult for me because I just buy shit and that's not good. I mean it's great but it's not good.
But anyway, yeah I got to run around LA with my fam (in our matching black and white outfits by the way haha) and it was grand.

It's been nice being home. I'm seeing my sis again this weekend so that's going to be fun.
Lately I've been loving just sleeping in and driving around at night with Christine and our shenanigans. I can always count on her to randomly run around Monrovia with me. Smiles.
Hopefully I can get another post in this week before I go back to SC.
