I fly through my mind, I take the way I've known...

Sometimes I forget about hobbies, this weird thing humans do when they happen to get break from life and being adults.
I recently had a chat with one of my bests from high school and we both are in that place where all we feel like we're doing is working and sleeping and it's something I do not like at all. I've realized (with a little help and a nudge from a loved one and just thinking about where I am right now) that I need a hobby that's not related to things I do on the daily. I consider blogging a hobby, even though I may not do it often. Also wearing what I wear and taking the time to choose certain outfits and taking photos of them I also consider a hobby. But again, these are things I do every day. For work I'm on a computer 8-9 hours a day which can get old after a while, which is why blogging has been getting put on the back burner even though I very much enjoy doing it.
I've been writing a lot and thinking about things to post on here about, even if they may not be style related. A wonderful YouTuber I happen to be best friends with (and miss very much) said in a video that writing everything down no matter how silly is a great way to stay yourself even though everything outside of that is chaos.
So a couple weeks ago, I did two fun things and had amazing days because I was doing things I enjoyed. The honey and I went on our first trip to Disney together and it was magical and all kinds of awesome. That one is self-explanatory, I cannot wait to go again.
That same week, I did an art thing, which I have not done since my birthday in January. Sometimes I forget why I chose to be an art history major in college so reminders of that really make me happy. My sister and I took a trip to Silver Lake to see what everyone and their mother have been taking photos of since April. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I went a little cray in taking photos of Projection by artist Vincent Lamouroux. Basically, he took a dilapidated motel, lovingly called "The Bates Motel" on Sunset and covered it entirely in a whitewash, including the palm trees. And of course, it has attracted lost of attention as anything new does in Los Angeles. It's a great disruption and contrast of the way we see things and also a cool backdrop for my photos. I loved that we got to see it when it was gloomy out.

Can you feel it...

Wow so the whole month of April went by and I didn't blog at all. That has not happened in a very long time and for that I am very sorry. And here I am with the excuses again. I will be graduating in a month so I've just been preparing for that and working a lot and hanging out with my lovelies.
I just wanted to get this post out real quick just to show you guys what I've been wearing pretty much every day. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed a trend in my color choice lately. I mean it's always been a thing but I feel like it's been a stronger thing recently.

I've been thinking about a lot of stuff recently just about life and people. I'm kind of at a lull right now, it's weird because I do a lot but I feel like I'm doing very little. I just really need a change of pace right now. I can't wait to graduate and start fresh in a new place.
Just some random thoughts for you. I'm also currently in Monrovia visiting for the weekend. It's nice to get a break from life, even if it's just for a hot second.

Love is too happy to bring me down...

Hi lovelies!
I finally have time to post on here about my spring break I had in LA with the man and the fam.
I'm still currently on spring break at the moment and I'm pretty much just resting now. I have my last quarter before I graduate at UC Santa Cruz starting next week and I'm pretty stoked on that.
So I haven't formally introduced the man on here yet, but you may have seen him a bit in the past couple of posts. The man is Daniel and he's pretty much my favorite. He's been the man for a while now and thinking about that makes me incredibly happy. But enough sappy.
We left for LA last Thursday and right when we got there it was just one thing after another, doing as much as we can, seeing as many people as we can, and then all of a sudden it was over. It was amazingly tiring and awesome at the same time. While we were there, we pretty much just ate food and went shopping and that was fine by us. It was very good to have him in my hometown and show him around and what not. This picture spam coming at you was our last full day in LA. We hung out with my fam at the Fairfax flea market and the Grove. It was great being in the LA sun.

A lot of things are going to be happening in the near future so hopefully I will be updating on all of that. As for now, I am scared and excited about what is to come and happy about everything that is happening now.
See you soon. Smiles. xox

Some people talk about ya...

It's always hard deciding on my favorites from Fashion Week. But I did manage to do it.
I know I know, London's done and Milan is happening, I am well aware, but other things needed to be blogged. I am also currently home in Monrovia at the moment so I've been a busy bee.
With that said, here are my faves from NYFW.

Sass & Bide
This show was so polished but also fun and that's really difficult to pull off. I loved the mix of masculine cuts with the feminine details. This was one show that used a lot of white that I actually enjoyed.

Peter Som
There were so many pieces from this collection that were easy to wear. It wasn't some production but actual clothes that people can buy. The cuts were so fluid it was amazing. A great mix of patterns and fabrics that somehow all worked together.

Altuzarra
Another show that showcased real life wear. This collection made separates sexy even with the random mix of that blue patchwork print and all the fun fringe. And gah that last silver dress, gorge.

Rebecca Minkoff
I love the sporty Frida Kahlo thing that was happening here. Racing stripes and lace? Who woulda thunk? And color. Thank you. Also, Janelle Monáe, enough said.

Alexander Wang
I wanted sexy sets for spring and these were sexy. I also loved that the colors were muted. There was a lot of white at NYFW and I was getting annoyed by the end. The mens fabric took me by surprise but it was a nice change.

Opening Ceremony
More color yay. For their first runway show, this was pretty epic, straight up street badasses. There was a good mix of high fashion and streetwear and you don't get a lot of that nowadays. It was definitely not the plain whiteness that people were starting to get used to during NYFW. Loved it.

I fell in love with a lot of others, many honorable mentions. Jeremy Scott with the teenage aliens, Steven Alan got me with those reflective sunglasses, and Rodarte is always gorgeous to watch.
A couple things:
I'm currently in LA at the moment so I will try to get you London and Milan Fashion Weeks to you quickly. I might sneak in an outfit post from a couple weeks ago as well.
Another thing, if you don't already know from my Instagram, I chopped all my hair off. It was a pretty spur of the moment decision, but I have been planning on cutting my hair for a while now. Change is good, and there have been some really good changes in my life at the moment. Smiles.

Our song on the radio...

Happy April babes!
I'm back in Santa Cruz after a great break. Today was the start of spring quarter and I'm still trying to ease back into the school groove. I absolutely loved being home and seeing the people I love and just chillin', it's like the best thing ever.
My last night of break I spent with my fambam and we frolicked around Old Town Pasadena and had some amazeballs pizza over at The Kitchen. I had slept over my beautiful sissy's house the night before which was perfect. I miss her already. You may have seen some pictures on Instagram. Earlier Saturday, we found this empty parking lot and decided to take our outfit pictures there. It was pretty random but super fun.

Also have you guys been into the monochrome look lately as much as I have? I've been trying to get into the spring colors but I just can't. I love me my black and white.

We can live like this forever...

So Easter went by super quickly yesterday even though I've been eating Easter candies since last week.
I had a very nice Easter weekend besides what went down on Friday, but let's not talk about that silly business. Veronica and I had a little date night and saw Titanic in 3D which was absolutely insane. It was amazing to see it on a big screen. I didn't know how invested I was going to be watching it, but I ended up crying like a little child. It's so long that when I usually watch it like on TV or something, I can't get into it emotionally. But this time, I was bawling my big old eyes out.

Yesterday, I had a nice quiet Easter with Veronica. We went to church, took some pictures outside since it was a beautiful day, and then had brunch where else? Denny's. I don't have a lot of cute church-y clothes with me up here so I had to work with what I had. I busted out the pasty legs to wear this dress though. I seriously need to tan. My legs haven't seen daylight in months. Anyway.
We spent the rest of the day painting our nails since I bought more nail polish. I even bought a minty color which is totally not me but I just had to because everyone needs a mint color for spring. Plus Veronica is rubbing off on me a little. She loves super bright nail polish colors.
Anyway, I'll leave you with that.

I like it like that...

It's that time again!
The Wish List, whose name has officially changed to:

The Lust List

So as we all know, spring is on it's way, which means there are things to look forward to.

Here are just a couple of things:

1. Dark nail polish. I'm thinking a steel gray to match my prom dress (which is in the works by the way), since it won't really match. And I love that.

Femme for DKNY Jeans champagne romper

2. Playsuits, jumpsuits, and rompers. I can't believe I only have one romper. I want another one. End of story.

3. H&M's Spring Swimwear Collection. I can't pick just one. I might mix and match a little. They're all fun.

Anyway, time for me to lust.
