Shine bright...

If you're reading this, yay to you for surviving the end of the world and being a badass!
Sorry for the lack of posts on here since being home.
It's just been family time here so I haven't had any time to post anything. I got home and the very next day I had a sister weekend which was amazing. I'll post about that soon hopefully.

I thought I would just give you guys some holiday spirit with the photos from the Fashion Team's holiday photoshoot "Handful of Glitter." If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some sneaky peeks that I posted while it was happening. One of our models didn't show up and again I had to fill in, but I didn't mess it up! The photos turned out great and we had such a great time shooting. Smiles.

Happy holidays everyone! Hopefully I will see you all before Christmas, but if that doesn't happen then I wish you all an amazing holiday! xo

Then they dive in it...

So I told you a couple weeks ago that I was going to do some fun Halloween projects this month with Slug Style. I've only been part of the club and going to meetings for a couple of weeks, but it's been really fun so far. It's nice to hang out with people that share the same interests as you and to get inspired by people's ideas that you've never really thought about before. We're starting to get our shiz together about becoming an official club on campus since we're still kind of a baby at the moment. But I'm really excited about what's to come and all the projects we're going to do this year.
Last week, we had our first photoshoot of the year and it was pretty much a success. We all came together  and worked hard but also had great fun. When we were in planning mode, I took the role of stylist with a couple of other people for the shoot. We all went thrifting downtown to look for pieces to style. The shoot was obviously planned for Halloween but the actual theme was "wearable witch" which was right up my alley. Every look we styled I wanted so badly, even though I knew most of it wouldn't have fit me. However, I did somehow end up being one of the models for the shoot because of people not showing up and what not. Yeah, that's me in the hat. Go me doing two jobs!
Veronica did the make up for the shoot (on her birthday no less) and she did a great job. We celebrated later that night with burgers and milkshakes (what else?). Oh and we also did a little impromptu photoshoot that night. It looked so creepy outside, we just had to. Anyway, I thought I'd show you some behind the scenes shots Veronica and I took before and during the shoot. The last one is a little preview I posted on Instagram. Can't wait to show you the final shots. Smiles.

I'm trying to get into the hang of blogging again, at least once a week. It's just been really hard recently especially because I had midterms this week.
But I love you guys and I hope you are having a great October! xo

Feet upon the ground...

Hello my dears!
I thought I would finally post something this month since we're about halfway through September already. A lot of stuff has been going on, I've been spending time with my loves, packing for school, and just finishing out my summer as best I can. I went to Disneyland yesterday with my sister and Geo to celebrate her birthday and it was great fun. I will post about that really soon. It's my last week in good old Monrovia so I'll be a busy bee.

So some news: I chopped all my hair off and it's really different but it's new and I love me some change. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen it already, but I will post a picture of the before and after at the end of this post.
Today I've decided to just show you what's been going on in my life through Instagram. Smiles.

New hair yay!
I'll see you guys really soon. xo

Here we are, just runaways...

There are things that make me happy. Photoshoots with Rosee Rose make me happy.
A couple weeks ago, Rose and I did a photoshoot just for funsies. Plus I wanted to get shots of my ombré before I cut my hair. So all we knew that it was hot as balls outside. What we didn't know was that it was 102 degrees. However, despite that we had a jammin' time shooting like we always do. She's so great at what she does and making me look good. I think they turned out great.

I hope a summer photoshoot with Rose becomes a tradition for us. I love that lady.
xo

We've got nothing to lose...

CARDIGAN - THRIFTED/ STUDDED COLLAR DENIM SHIRT - DIY/ SUNGLASSES - LE SPECS/ DISCO PANTS - AMERICAN APPAREL/ VINTAGE BOOTS/ NYX LIPSTICK IN ULYSSES

So I finally got my disco pants and I am ecstatic. Smiles.
There is only one little downside to them, which is mainly my fault, but other than that they're perfect. I have a weird body shape where my legs are too thin for my torso, which means that I had to get a medium in the pants for them to fit. Therefore, that makes them a little loose in the leg area, hence the rolling up of the pants action. But it's alright because I've decided that I want to get some leather leggings or liquid leggings of some sort that will be tight enough for my skinny ankles.

So enough about the pants. I had an amazing couple of days especially since last week was pretty crappy because of all of these deadlines for school, and dumb papers to write. Yesterday, Veronica and I had plans to go to a friend's party. We ended up ditching that and went on a field trip to my beloved Denny's. We had some breakfast for dinner which is pretty much one of the best things in the world.

To sum it all up, I had a great weekend, what about you?

You're running wild...

It's that time again - Inspiration Wednesday.
And this week, it's this guy.

I love controversy.
So it's no wonder, I fell in love with Tyler Shields, everything he does, and everything he is.
He's the guy that's been taking those beautifully eerie pictures of those celebs we all know and love. That's because he's friends with all of them and they have discovered what an amazing artist he is. You may have heard of Mischa Barton fondling raw meat or Heather Morris with her black eye. Yes, all this guy. He is super freaky and I love it.
Though his photos are sometimes shocking, he doesn't mean to shock. He has a way of taking the stuff the news tells us to fear and playing around with it. A lot of people are afraid of blood, and fire, and guns, and violence, and he photographs a lot of it. A lot.
He has a great eye and all of his photos are stunning to look at. I find myself always looking forward to what he does next. I mean, the guy shot someone for real, at the opening exhibit of his "Collisions" show in 2010. He was wearing a bulletproof vest but still. He pushes boundaries and I love that. He also gets his subjects to push their own boundaries, which makes for a great photograph. Not only is he amazeballs at photography, the man can write. He recently released a book last year called Smartest Man, which I have yet to read, but I heard the response was incredible. So I'm looking forward to that.

Anyway. Tyler Shields. You have to check him out. I'm surprised it took me this long to do an Inspiration Wednesday about him. It would be a dream to have him photograph me. Every time I see his work, I want to do a photoshoot. I might be doing a shoot kind of inspired by him pretty soon. Hopefully.

So hope all you lovely people enjoyed this. Have a great rest of the week. Smiles.

You can shine so bright...

So after a night of yummy boba and good times, bester Rosee tells me that the photoshoot we did a couple weekends ago for her final turned out really well. I love them as well. She used me along with a couple others. The first two are me. I keep saying she needs a website for her amazing photos. But until then, I will have to show them off for her.

I cannot wait to do another shoot with her. Smiles.

I'll eat you up...

So you all know that I was fierce Ke$ha last Saturday at the famous Alex Mendoza's Nicki Minaj/Britney Spears/Ke$ha party. I had glitter all over my face and I still do even two days after the party. But I loved it. I only had my 35mm camera unfortunately so I will post those pictures from the night when I get the film developed. That's the only downside to not having a good digital to post pictures right away. However, thankfully, my sis at Lainey Turns the Camera On had her trusty camera as always and she got some shots of me before I left.
I absolutely loved my outfit. I made two pieces of my outfit myself and the shorts I ripped a little bit more. I made the GET SLEAZY shirt with spray paint and I made a feather earring which surprisingly turned out really well. I'm planning on making more feathers so I can sell them. I wore the earring along with the red feathers I got from By Samii Ryan which I posted about a while ago. The rest of the outfit I already had in my closet. Not a surprise, for I love buying costume-y pieces of clothing. You never know when you'll need them.
I will post pictures from the night once I get my roll developed.

I dreamed a dream...

So last night my ultimate bester Kristen had her wonderful senior recital titled Long, Long Road, and I was so happy for her. We had lots of music, laughs, and cries and it seeing her up on that stage made me really sad to think about her leaving for BYU next year. It was definitely a beautiful night and everyone looked beautiful. I got to have many costume changes which made me excited because people don't like to dress up nowadays, but I always do. So I got to sing with the bester and the rest of the lovely people who were part of her cast and we danced to what else? Gaga. You can see the super awesome dance, choreographed by Kristen's older sister Stephanie here. I bought a new black dress just for the finale and I'm in love with it. It reminds me of the American Apparel one that I mentioned before, but it's better because it's black and it's real lace. I still want the one from AA but that can wait now.
My mother and sister took many wonderful pictures so I will share them with you all. Smiles.
