Just keep your eyes on me...

So it's been a minute and I am so very sorry about that but I have definitely missed posting on here.
Since I moved to LA from Santa Cruz it's pretty much been the usual happenings until about two months ago. I was doing a million and a half things and gained so much knowledge in a short amount of time but I guess it was fun while it lasted. I'm really just appreciative of everything around me right now.
However, with that being said, this is the first time I'm posting on here in a while and it feels like I can breathe again. I'm doing things that I did not realize I missed very much and the fact I have the time to do them makes me incredibly happy. I'm really thankful for the people around me for just being there and showing me that there's more. I've struggled with a lot this year, but getting through it and accepting it makes me really hopeful for next year. There's so much for me to learn and experience and I can't wait.

I'm not going to keep being sappy but it is the holidays and there's much to be said about that. 2014 has been a whirlwind and I can't wait for what's to come next year. I've been all over the place as far as my sanity is concerned but being 22 (almost 23), I think that's a completely acceptable state of being. I think now is my time to stay up too late, go to a random country, love too much and just be my own person. I'm out of college now and I have all the time in the world to make decisions and do all the things I want to do.

With that being said, on a completely unrelated note, this blog does exist to express my style ramblings and whatnot so I thought why not see a couple of the favorite outfits I wore throughout the year to round out 2014.

As you may have guessed, I'm a bit more active on Instagram.
Talk to you soon I promise. xo

As we dance through the dark...

Gah, March is going by so quickly! Finals are next week which explains why I haven't been on here.
But I do have another quick outfit post for ya since I'm still trying very hard to update you guys on my life and what I'm wearing and what not.
I wanted to post this outfit in particular because I wanted to show you my new favorites at the moment, which are my Vagabond Dioon boots! I'm so stoked on them. I also thought they matched the dress really well. (Fun fact: the man got me this Evil Twin dress for Valentine's Day, yeah he knows me. Smiles.) I don't usually dress up every day. Lately it's been some sort of black pants with a tee or sweater and sneakers. So this was nice to document.

Also I just finished a research paper for one of my favorite classes I've ever taken here, my monsters class. Yes you heard right. Monsters. Today was the last day and I was pretty bummed to leave. I've recently realized that an onslaught of "lasts" are coming up soon in my time here at UC Santa Cruz and I'm really excited and sad about it all at the same time.
Anyway, just wanted to stop by. I may sneak another post or two in on here before the man and I depart for LA. xo

And the rest will follow...

Do you know that thing that happens when you love a piece of clothing so much that you basically wear it every day and you never get tired of it?
Well that's the situation happening with this Forever 21 cardigan shawl I bought maybe about a month ago. It's what I wear every day to work and even when I'm not working. I'm serious. Maybe it's because it's black and over-sized, two things I look for in clothing pieces. Love it.
Just thought I'd quickly share this outfit I wore a couple days ago when Veronica and I were out running errands and what not. It's such a comfy cozy outfit, basically my go-to. I've worn it twice this week, but that's supposed to be a secret. Smiles.

P.S. I will post more this month I swear. The end of this month will be a doozy, I can feel it.

Let it come and let it be...

So I haven't really been inspired to do an outfit post lately. I don't know why but I thought I'd do vlogger/blogger babe fave since I haven't done that in forever. We can call it the Inspiration Wednesday of this week even though it's not Wednesday. Smiles.
Okay so I don't really know why I haven't talked about this Youtuber before because she's something amazing and I've been watching her videos for quite some time now. I'm talking about Amy Pham from The Platform, which if you don't know, it is a channel on YouTube that focuses on all things style, beauty and all that good stuff. Amy Pham mostly does the style aspect of it called "The Fashion Statement" and she's pretty great. She's this little hottie with a body, and super genuine and sweet, definitely a girl crush of mine.

Hope you enjoyed! Definitely check out The Platform on YouTube since it's pretty awesome.
I'll update you all on my life and whatnot on my next post which will hopefully be an outfit.

It's in the stars...

So June means I'm super close to summer time however, the weather decided to get into it's gloom phase lately which is dumb. But anyway, to get into the summer mood, I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite things to wear this season and that is overalls.

Overalls kinda got super trendy this year which I'm all for because I totally forgot about them. We've all worn overalls before because they're just great so I'm glad they're back. Now I want every kind of pair I can get my hands on. I remember my favorite ones that I would wear in high school were this black high-waist not really denim pair that used to be my mom's. There's a photo of the two of us at Disneyland when I was about two and she's wearing them. It's one of my favorite outfits of hers. I just found the overalls the weekend I went home so I can't wait to do an outfit post on them.
Here's some overalls inspiration to get you through the day. Smiles.

By the way it is also finals week for me so the next time I post might not be for a while. I might even be moved into my new apartment by then! So anyway, hope you have a great week. Wish me luck on finals! xo

Let 'em wonder...

Okay so April was definitely not a good month of blogging for me.
There was just a lot of school stuff and working a lot and trying to find places to live in June and just gah. It sounds like excuses but I'm physically exhausted. I'm so jealous of the peeps who have finals coming up because at least they will be done with this school year. I'm barely on midterms right now. But enough complaining. I decided to just do a quick post before I get back to work on thesis writing.

If ya'll don't know a certain blogger Lua Perez from Le Happy then you are missing out. I've mentioned her a few times on here and posted some of her outfits as inspiration because this girl can do no wrong in my opinion and to prove that, I'm going to show you the amazeballs-ness that is her new line for Romwe.

Today she finally debuted her Le Happy x Romwe collaboration and it's great. The pieces she designed were everything that I could imagine her wearing/designing. So many good neutral and versatile pieces that anyone can wear. I can't wait to snag me some. She's just absolutely great, go see for yourself. Here are some of my favorites.

Something in the way you move...

I apologize if you're getting tired of Fashion Month. I have to get these out of my system. There are only two more including this one so don't you worry. Plus Milan was gorgeous as always, such a production.
I'll keep it short for you if that's possible. So here are my favorites from MFW.

Versace
How can you not with Versace? I realize that once the Costume Institute announces their theme (which is punk), the fashion world goes a little cray for Fashion Week. This show was no different than the other punk shows save for one thing. It was so over the top with the vinyl and lethal spikes that it ended up being so great. The looks were super fetish-y with the contrasts of fur and vinyl, it was almost uncomfortable but not quite, which made it so fun for me to watch. Loved it.

Dolce & Gabbana
Okay I'm an art history major so I fell in love with this collection right away, from the first look to the last. Thumbs up to the mosaic prints and super meticulous hand beading. It was a refreshing show because it was so different from everything else we've been seeing at Fashion Week. The styling was perfect with the romantic Catholic, Byzantine slash Venetian thing going on, I loved it so much. There was one problem I had which was the amount of looks, okay there were over seventy outfits that walked out. I could have done without the break in the middle with the menswear material as well but all in all it was beautifully done.

Philipp Plein
This was definitely a show show with Grace Jones performing and being amazeballs. Basically if this is what I'm supposed to look like in the fall, then sign me right up. I felt like the collection was a party, it was everything I love put into one show. There was lots of fur, leather and sequins (oh my god the leather pants that look like there's stain glass going down your leg give me them now). The setting was gorgeous as well, I love when shows are not just the models and a catwalk. Philipp Plein was a stand out for me.

Fausto Puglisi
I love me some Brit punk revolution and this was the epitome of it. It was just beautiful to look at. The models looked like Scots that were about to kick my ass. I loved the tartan mixed with the leather and buckles and just everything about this collection. And more baseball caps! Love a good snappy and I want all of them. I mean they're plaid, come on it's perfect.

Emilio Pucci
I've had my eye on Pucci for a while now, but I was never really invested in it. Then I saw all of Rita Ora's outfits for her recent tour, every single one designed by Pucci. Gorgeous. So then I waited for this collection and I almost died. Two words described the collection for me and they are hell and yes. It was a show of 70s rock goddesses with the bangs and the fur and the suede. I loved the mix of pastel and black which really surprised me. And those super thigh high suede boots (particularly the red ones) I can't. Perfect. Peter Dundas did an amazing job on this collection.

Anyway, finals are coming up so I have papers to do and what not. I will blog before I go home though.
And I love you guys so instead of throwing Paris FW at you next I will give you a break. Smiles

As long as there's sun...

Hi dears!
Fashion Week is making me a little flustered how about you? I feel so behind, I can't imagine actually having to go see the shows (even though that would be amazeballs).
But anyway, behind or not, I still would like you all to see my faves from London Fashion Week because they were perfect.

Topshop Unique
Let's start with the belle of the ball, Topshop. I had two favorite shows and this was one of them. First, the pieces were just totally boss and I want a lot of them for myself. Second, the people who attended this show made me fangirl for days. Third, the soundtrack to the show had this 90s nostalgia, I mean come on. And fourth, Cara Delevingne. Enough said. The pieces were a throwback to Brit pop (fitting) with the patent leather and weird textures. There was a great youthful chic feeling about them which was tough but nice and romantic. Give me everything.

Christopher Kane
This show was absolutely insane in every way possible. An MRI of a human brain printed on shirts, static looking dresses that look like I would get electrocuted if I touched it, I mean it was awesome. There was this gothic, Frankenstein-y feel about the pieces with big shoulders and color choices. If you know me, you know my favorite part of the whole (really long) show was the velvet pieces that appeared. I freaked out and I want them. Oxblood velvet? Yes.

Ashish
If sequins aren't your thing, look away. This collection was banana sandwich, which is very good, just if you didn't know what that means. I fell in love with the slouchy sparkly tough girl look, it was a mix of everything I love to wear. If you don't already know, I am obsessed with sequins and denim so this show was perfect. I went crazy for the all denim outfits and the awesome hologram looks. And that "I'm having a shit day thanks" tee, just oh my god want.

Jean-Pierre Braganza
This was so simple but amazing and strong. I think it gave either a love or hate feeling because it was so out there but of course I loved it because it was insane. It had this sci-fi feel with the prints that were used, I mean they all looked like aliens. When the outfit was sharp, it was super sharp, and when the garment was supposed to flow, it flowed like water and I thought it was phenomenal.

Moschino Cheap and Chic
So this was my other favorite of LFW. I couldn't handle myself with this one. I'm obsessed with everything British so the rise of British punk motif that was seriously screaming at you in this collection made me faint. It was rebellious and rough, but somewhat sweet at the same time with the pink and the leopard and the fur. I feel like people tend to overdo the leopard but this was done really nicely. I also love me some black and white all the time so basically a big yes to this collection.

Hope you enjoyed.
Sorry if Fashion Week (or month) is taking me a while to write about. And sorry that I haven't been posting either. I just got a job, finals are coming up, and all that jazz. To see what I'm up to every day, follow me on my Twitter or Instagram.
See you pretties soon. xo

I'm ready for ya...

I thought I'd finally do my New York Fashion Week round up. I know I'm a little late and even London Fashion Week has come and gone already but it's okay. Better late than never right?
A lot has been going on so I didn't have too much time to blog. My parents came up to visit last week and we had a nice dinner and the next day I went to LA for the weekend (I will blog about that soon). I got my wisdom teeth out which was balls but I'm slowly but surely recovering which is nice. This school week has been stressful as well so I am very happy to say that I finally have a break to chat with you. Smiles.
So I'm very excited to show you my favorite shows from NYFW. It was a tough decision but I hope you all enjoy. I know I did.

Jeremy Scott
Okay call me crazy but this was my favorite show from NYFW. I know right, who knew I liked colors? Lately I've been super into this mix of urban street grungy punk-ness so these looks were right up my alley. I loved the cartoon graphics right away when miss bad bitch Cara Delevingne started the show in this awesome puke-y fantasy two piece. I was greatly confused but so in love with it all. Some pieces I could have done without but that happens with every collection. I felt like Jeremy Scott took a teenage boy's bedroom in the 90's, chewed it up and spitted it out. It was perfectly controlled chaos and just amazeballs. I'm "too weird to live" too, now give me that sweater cool thanks.
Update: It is very unfortunate that certain pieces from his collection have brought attention to the fact that Scott had taken artists' designs without their permission to use them for his clothes. The discourse of fashion is a risky business that we all have come to understand. Fashion ripping off youth culture is not an entirely new concept in this industry which is disappointing but what can you do? Jeremy Scott can only wait for the consuming public's reception of his pieces and see if he has hurt himself with his choices.

3.1 Phillip Lim
The whole show had this biker babe feel to it which I loved. I thought the show started off a little eh for me, which is not necessarily a bad thing because the looks were gorgeous, but just not for me. I think it was because I wasn't into the colors at the beginning but then they got darker and I was ecstatic. Awesome outerwear really dominated this show, I was really into the half lapel thing that was happening with the coats. I thought every look was polished but rough at the same time which was totally badass.

Jonathan Simkhai
I know he's known for his California cool looks, I've seen good ol' KStew wear a couple of his pieces before and I was really surprised that I actually like him. His looks had this sporty tomboy feel which I'm usually opposed to, but I was really into this collection. I love the quirkiness of all of it and the mix of girly and tomboy with the ruffles and athletic sweaters. They're just fun and cool pieces and it was quite a refreshing collection.

Alice + Olivia
I had such a hard time deciding what looks to choose from this collection. I loved a lot of it which is very rare for me with collections. I felt that there wasn't an obvious cohesiveness between the looks but I ended up loving that aspect of it. There were so many textures used and mixed together, the styling was just perfection. The looks were all so different that there is definitely something for everyone. There was an easy cool about the pieces, I knew if I wore one of them, I'd instantly feel just amazeballs.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria
This was a close second to Jeremy Scott for me, which is weird because they were nothing alike. Let me just say, Hervé Léger is usually not my style. I mean I would love to rock a body-con dress if I could but I can't but that's my own problem. I was expecting the usual sexy tight bandage dresses, but this collection was that and more, definitely not what I expected. All of the models were covered up but somehow still managed to be sexy as hell. I mean sexy sweatpants? Who would of thunk? And sorry Hervé Léger, you can't add baseball caps and expect to lower your sexy factor, but it's okay, I thank you kindly for that. Absolute love.

I had a lot of honorable mentions like the gorgeous lavender and prints at Thakoon, the to-die-for quilted pants at Theykens' Theory, and the sexy spies with the all black everything at Kaufmanfranco.
Definitely expect a London Fashion Week favorites post soon. Smiles.

xo

In that dress I like...

Awards season is upon us!
The unfortunate thing is I wasn't completely wowed by any of the looks save for a very few. Let's go over them shall we?

Chloë Moretz in Simone Rocha
People's Choice Awards
I think this dress is great. First, I would totally just wear this in real life. It's so cute and fun without being obnoxious. And second, she just looks great in it and it works with her young age. Totally my style as well.

Amanda Seyfried in Marios Schwab
Critics' Choice Movie Awards
At first I was unsure about this but that only lasted for a hot second and then I kinda fell in love with it. It definitely looks better with movement but I still love the hell out of it. Amanda is a goddess, just basically.

Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen
Golden Globe Awards
Okay I love this dress a lot. The only little tiny thing that bothered me was the styling. Her hair and makeup was kinda eh for me, but I don't really care about that too much because she looks good in the dress otherwise. Perfectly edgy and sleek and sophisticated. Just lovely.

An outfit post is coming soon I hope! xx

The prettiest of views...

So it's been about a week since I've posted which is not very good so I apologize for that. I just started my winter quarter so I've just been getting used to my schedule and what not.
I decided to post today since I don't have class on Fridays usually and I just wanted to update you all on my life. I figured I would do a Fave Fives today since I haven't since Christmas.
Plus, once all of these award shows are over, I will definitely be seeing you again.

1. Having a cuppa.
Over break I got this obsession with tea, just any tea and I've decided that it's a very good obsession. Veronica and I have been having a cup every night before bed and it's just a nice, relaxing time.

2. Santa Cruzin'.
I never feel how much I love Santa Cruz until I'm back after being away for a while. I got out of the car last Sunday and breathed in the fresh air and it was just lovely being back.

3. Being 21 finally.
It still feels weird being able to say I'm 21, but it's nice.

4. Yoga.
Now I've only been doing it for two days but I'm loving it. Plus I get to exercise and be healthy, and god knows I'm not at all. Oops.

5. Hair fun.
I'm so bored with my hair. I really want to do something to it but I don't know what that something is just yet. So in the meantime, I've just been posting random hair inspiration on my Tumblr. Smiles.

Anyway. See you guys soon! xx

Watch me as I glide...

It's that time of year again, everyone!
It's the time when we look back at the memories we've made this past year, whether it's the adventures or the mistakes, and we wipe that clean and start over. Smiles.
2012 was pretty good for me, unexpected but pretty good. I always say unexpected is a good thing. If everything was predictable, we'd lead boring lives and that's not fun. So I hope 2012 was good for you guys too. Here are my favorite moments.
