The one that I love under the sun...

Well I had a great weekend!
So I finished with school and finals last Thursday but I didn't get a break until yesterday since I had to move into my new apartment and then go to work, and then my parents and my sister came to visit the whole weekend  for Father's Day. We basically had a ball. They left yesterday and I was a sad puppy. It was so great being with them, I had the best weekend, to be quite honest.

VINTAGE DRESS/ DIY DENIM JACKET/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL BOOTS/ VINTAGE DOONEY

I love the dress I wore for lunch on Father's Day. I got it from my favorite thrift store a couple months ago and I totally forgot about it until I moved and found all these clothes I never wear. It was pretty exciting.
I'm not going to get to see my family for a while so that bummed me out but it's all good. Keeping busy will make the time go by faster. I actually don't know when I will be seeing them next, so it might be sooner than I think. Hopefully.

We'll be so good...

I'm so ready for this school year to be over. I have a class starting in a bit but I decided I like you guys better. I have a little something to show you all.
This past weekend, Veronica and I went around looking for new thrift stores and had a ball. I was a little bummed I didn't get to go home this weekend but it's okay. We found this thrift store with this amazing garden I just had to take pictures. I also had to work but I love my job, new laughs every day. I just hang out with really great people all the time, it's awesome. Smiles.
I decided I would show you my new babies that I ordered from Topshop a while ago. Yes I got me some jelly sandals and they're amazing. They're by the UK brand JuJu. You can get em at other places too. I think Asos and American Apparel have them. I walked all day in them so of course my feet kinda hurt at the end of the night but if you don't do that, they're just perfect. I even wore them without socks which I was afraid of at first but it was fine. I love them. They're so sparkly and they make me feel a little girly, which I'm definitely not, almost 90% of the time.

Anyway, I hope your Memorial Day weekend was grand.
Love you all. xo

Yes I know it's the middle of the week, but I still want to tell you about my super fun weekend!
I told you all last week that we had a heatwave in Santa Cruz. Well the next day, it got colder, so it's finally fall here yay. It hasn't been too cold yet so it's pretty nice.
Anyway so on Friday, Veronica and I went on a little date downtown and went to see The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. I'm still reading the book, but I couldn't wait, and it was totally fine. Okay, I am so in love with this movie! I can't even explain it. From what I've read so far, it stayed pretty close to the book, and Veronica read the whole thing and she loved it too. Just go see it. It might become one of your favorite movies.

I felt like this weekend was just all shopping. Wow that sounds really bad, but it really was just a lot of shopping. Saturday was dedicated to Target as you can see. I can seriously spend hours in that amazing place. Their Halloween stuff is out now too so Veronica and I went crazy. We filmed a little Halloween haul over on her channel which is going up soon. I'll link it in this post later when it's up. Smiles.
On Sunday, we basically spent the entire day thrifting and vintage shopping. I was so exhausted afterwards. Shopping takes a lot out of you, I'm serious. First, we went to Bargain Barn, which is just a warehouse full of goodies basically and went through everything. We were very happy with what we found, I'll tell you that. There might be a haul coming on that stuff too. Later we met up with some Slug Style buddies to look for some photoshoot inspiration. I won't give anything away yet, but I can tell you I'm very excited. I can't wait.

I might be starting up Inspiration Wednesday again soon, and posting some Halloween-y things for you too. I want to celebrate it as much as I can this year since I didn't have the time last year.
So yeah, I hope you guys had an amazing weekend too. xo

Here's our haul from Target. Smiles.

Don't make me stop now...

VINTAGE HEAD WRAP AND LEATHER VEST/ SKELETON TANK - BRANDY MELVILLE/ URBAN OUTFITTERS PANTS

So this past weekend we celebrated my mom's 59th birthday. I love that woman. I want to look like her when I'm 59. She's the best and cutest mom ever. Smiles.
We had lunch in Burbank yesterday and then saw The Bourne Legacy which I enjoyed. Her actual birthday is today so my parents and I had lunch before my dad went to work. I spent the entire day with my mom. It was nice.

Some updates:
- I bought The Hunger Games on DVD last week and I've seen probably fifty times already. Smiles.
- Cool things are happening, cool things like guest blogging and night shoots. Can't wait to show you.
- I've been reading a lot lately. I forgot how much I love it.
- Fall is coming soon. I am ecstatic for knits and boots.
- I'm having a big thrift store shopping day soon with the besties Jeff and Eddie. Yay clothes!

See you beautiful people very soon. xo

It started with a whisper...

Another Inspiration Wednesday that I am excited as balls about. Smiles.
I get fashion inspiration all around me, magazines, old movies, Tumblr, my mother's closet, you name it. The place I will be talking about today is YouTube, not all of YouTube, but a particular channel called Clothes Encounters, and a particular person named Jenn Im.

I have been watching Clothes Encounters for a while now. It used to consist of Jenn and her best friend Sarah Chu. Since they've started college, Jenn took the reigns because of schedule conflicts and all that jazz. But anyway. It's basically a style channel where she styles outfits, does thrift hauls, and just talks about her fashion inspirations. So I have to say, Jenn Im is one of my girl crushes.

I mean, look at her. She's super cool and has that cool grunge-y but feminine look going on that I'm totally digging right now. She's definitely gives me style inspiration. And plus she just seems like a genuine person and that's pretty awesome. I'm surprised it took me this long to do an Inspiration Wednesday on her. If you want to see more of her, her channel is Clothes Encounters, she has a Twitter (@imjennim), and an Instagram (@imjennim).

Anyway, see you guys soon. Hopefully I'll have an outfit post for you next time.

Wake you up...

VINTAGE JEWELRY, BLOUSE AND LEATHER VEST/ CALVIN KLEIN CUTOFFS/ GIVENCHY TIGHTS/ DEENA & OZZY LACE UP BOOTIES/ REVLON LIPSTICK IN BLACKBERRY

My first weekend in Santa Cruz and I have a four day weekend. It's pretty great.
I only went out once this weekend just to thrift shop a little and get groceries with Veronica but the rest of the weekend we've just been lounging around the apartment eating baked goods and watching stuff on the Netflix queue. It's gotten a little colder this weekend as well so I guess winter is here. More warm clothes and Netflix.

The Golden Globes post is coming soon, once I decide on Best Dress, and also Inspiration Wednesday. I definitely do not want to lose track of this blog.
Some updates:
First, I got a haircut about a week ago. Just a trim, but a significant chunk is gone. But I didn't freak out so much this time, which was weird for me. Maybe I'm close to just chopping it all off.
Anyway, second, I started reading The Hunger Games finally, with much persuading by my sister and Veronica. It's pretty interesting.
And finally, I really want to go to Coachella this year even though I know I won't be going. I want to go to a music festival.

So that's all.

You're so fresh to death...

THRIFTED SKIRT AND SWEATER/ VINTAGE LACE UP BOOTS AND LOUIS VUITTON PURSE/ NYX LIP CREAM IN MONTE CARLO

My last two Inspiration Wednesdays have been a little late so this week I thought I should start early for you guys.
These past two days, I have been with my sister since I slept over her house on Monday and we just had an amazing time and did the things we used to do which is super fun. Also, I saw Drive, which is an amazing movie. Love. Ryan Gosling, yeah. Gorge. Anyway, so today we, along with her friend Maeghan, totally went extreme thrifting today, which I always love. I get into a zone where my hands keep moving crap around but i don't even feel them. Yeah I'm an odd one but I love thrift stores. If you don't love thrift stores, there's something wrong with you. Maeghan took us to this place and I literally had to dig to find stuff. As you can see, there were piles and piles that we went through. I found some great stuff, I can't wait to show you.

Which brings me to Inspiration Wednesday. And it's simple, really. Thrift/vintage stores.
It's probably been about a couple weeks since I've been to any thrift store and today made me miss it very much. Most of my favorite pieces of clothing are either thrifted or vintage. I love it because you never know what you might find. It makes me so happy when I find things that I'm not actually looking for, and the surprise is amazeballs. Yes I frequent the usual Goodwill and Salvation Army, but the hole in the wall places, and huge warehouses are the ones that make me incredibly happy. Like today.

It's looking like a beautiful day...

I think I had the best day today.
This morning I went to my favorite thrift store ever with the besties, Ace Face, K-Fed, and boyfee and we really had a jammin' time. I mean how can we not have? We went to Costco after and ate yummy food and then we drove (or Jeff drove) all around Monrovia looking for Choco Tacos. We were really determined.
We ended up chasing an ice cream truck and waited until it stopped and then we got out of the car and ate them in the street. I love my friends. Smiles.
Enough said.

The world may never know...

So yesterday I had a much needed trip to my favorite thrift store Amvet's in Azuza with Kristen and Jeff.
There was some confusion before we got there but it turned out to be pretty successful since we were there for about four hours.

Jeff grew his beard out for this documentary he's doing called Beard Summer. However, he said he's grown pretty tired of it and senior registration was today so he probably shaved it.
I'm actually sad to see it go away.

We had some fabulous finds but our favorite finds of the day were things that all three of us are sharing like a gray over-sized cardigan and a big white knitted cardigan. But we especially liked this burgundy jacket that was practically new and looked good on all three of us that we decided to share it.
A Siblinghood of the Traveling Jacket, if you will.

That night Panchy came over and we had a final night to hang out together before she leaves for Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday morning.
It was very sad.

On a happier note: I am craving these Candela NYC Spectator Oxfords. I want them.
End of story.
