To slow down the time...

Do you love the feeling of stumbling upon something great that you didn't know was going to be so amazing? I know I do.
Today, Veronica and I were driving around Santa Cruz, not doing our work but procrastinating and getting food. We passed by a yard sale and we decided to stop by even though I didn't want to buy anything. That doesn't happen in my book ever, because I always leave a store with something. It's a wonderful weakness of mine. So after looking around the yard sale, we both left with a 35mm camera in tow, and a cassette player. I got the cassette player for bester Kristen but she doesn't know that yet. I already have one since I love making people mix tapes.
But anyway, I bought my new old camera and cassette player for a whopping $1 each! It's a 90's-ish Nikon automatic zoom camera and I can't wait to get film for it. Veronica got a manual Canon which was also good. We're so excited.

I just want to feel today...

Besters in Santa Cruz means a jammin' time.

A couple of the besties came to visit me in Santa Cruz this weekend since there was no school today because of Presidents Day. Great weekend to party. And party we did.
They left this morning and I was pretty bummed out. I loved having Monrovia friends and Santa Cruz friends mingle with each other. I was sad that roomie Veronica went to Bakersfield and she didn't get to meet them but it's all good. I have a feeling that she will soon. I didn't get any outfit pictures except that last one and that was only an accident. But you can see some glimpses of what I wore. Being with friends was definitely a cheering up time.
My parents also had their 33rd anniversary this past weekend and I wish I could have celebrated with them. But they have a surprise from me heading their way thanks to Kristen.
I am so glad for this day. It was a great day off. I did some laundry with Shawn and we got some soup at the grocery store and watched some episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Very good day. Veronica just needs to come back and we'll be complete. She needs to get caught up on some things. Smiles.

It's a bad dream...

Life can change in a matter of moments.
The past couple days have been pretty rough. But it's always rough when people in your life are suddenly not. I have to let go but I can't just yet. Being away from home at a time like this isn't really ideal at the moment but I have my Santa Cruz peeps to cheer me up. Or try to cheer me up. Even the weird summer in February weather isn't cheering me up. I'm missing it more as every day passes by, the way things were. I just have to get used to it.
It's really hard expressing delicate feelings on a blog like this and I don't want to bum people out by doing it. I guess I'll stop here.

On the bright side, some cheering up happened yesterday. Shawn surprised me with a little drive to Davenport Beach a little ways from Santa Cruz. It was beautiful. But even though I had a great time running around taking pictures with Shawn, all I kept thinking about was who could have shared the view with me. We drove back to campus, not before taking a trip to get jalapeno cheese bread. That cheered me up. Food is always good.

Bury me in memory...

Greetings from San Francisco!
Just kidding, I'm not there anymore unfortunately. The roomies, Emily and Veronica, and I, along with some other people, spent the day in the city by the bay doing some Christmas shopping. We thought why not since it's our last weekend before winter break. I got some awesome gifts and my Christmas Eve outfit since we celebrate right at midnight on Christmas Eve.
I had a great day in San Fran even though it was raining cats and dogs outside and I was soaking wet. Driving around I thought, San Fran would be the one place in northern California I would live permanently. I love that city, and being only an hour away is great.
I wish some people could have been there to enjoy the city with me.

My dreams are bursting...

So my parents came to visit me this weekend and we had a grand time. I won't see them until Thanksgiving probably so that makes me the sads.
But anyway, we ventured around Santa Cruz and I showed them around a lot. I stayed at the hotel with them as well.
All of the roommates were gone this weekend and went home, except poor Veronica. I wanted her to have someone there so I went back to the dorm as soon as I could have, and the other two girlies weren't back yet. So yeah.

Anyway, I miss my crazy family. My dad made me laugh in that first picture. Smiles.
