I got a love...

BLAZER - VINTAGE JONES NEW YORK/ MENS POCKET TEE - COTTON ON/ MESH LEGGINGS - ROMWE/ BLACK GLITTER FLATS - REPORT/ VINTAGE DOONEY & BOURKE/ SUNGLASSES - LE SPECS/ NYX LIP CREAM IN MONTE CARLO

First I have to say, I'm in love with my new "Digital Nomad" Le Specs that I won from the wonderfully gorgeous Analisa, over at Rouge Fox from one of her blog giveaways. I have been on the hunt for my next pair of sunglasses and I couldn't have won these at a better time. So big thanks to her. Smiles.

Anyway, so I'm back after a 10 day hiatus. I apologize for that.
This past week has been a big blur. I've been going to class, getting everything ready for this museum internship application due this coming week, and studying for a couple tests. On top of all that, I had an allergic reaction to something. I still don't know if it was even an allergic reaction but my skin was on fire and it was really bad.
But enough of that. I look forward to a new month. A third of this quarter is gone, which means I'm that much closer to spring break. Smiles. I can't wait.

What it takes...

Finally, Inspiration Wednesday. Smiles.
Sorry this has been on and off, but it's back today and we should be glad because I personally think it's a really good one.

We've only heard recently about her a million times because of a certain movie called The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Yes, Rooney Mara.

Rooney Mara is certainly not disappointing anyone on her The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo promotional tour. For a relative newcomer, she's been flawless on the tour with her hands always slightly clasped. And her blunt bang is a hard hairstyle to deal with, but she works it every time. All her outfits effectively convey her angular aesthetic. I fell in love with every single one. She chose to showcase the garments by wearing little to no jewelry. All her looks bring about an edginess yet she looks positively Hepburn every time, especially that last black Nina Ricci she wore to the Golden Globes. Simply amazing. It's enough to send me on bended knee to her style prowess. Um, swoon.

Oh sidenote: I made myself a Tumblr. Come check it out here. Maybe follow me. Smiles.
Love you all...
(Especially you Mikey, if you're reading this, happy birthday. Smiles.)

Wake you up...

VINTAGE JEWELRY, BLOUSE AND LEATHER VEST/ CALVIN KLEIN CUTOFFS/ GIVENCHY TIGHTS/ DEENA & OZZY LACE UP BOOTIES/ REVLON LIPSTICK IN BLACKBERRY

My first weekend in Santa Cruz and I have a four day weekend. It's pretty great.
I only went out once this weekend just to thrift shop a little and get groceries with Veronica but the rest of the weekend we've just been lounging around the apartment eating baked goods and watching stuff on the Netflix queue. It's gotten a little colder this weekend as well so I guess winter is here. More warm clothes and Netflix.

The Golden Globes post is coming soon, once I decide on Best Dress, and also Inspiration Wednesday. I definitely do not want to lose track of this blog.
Some updates:
First, I got a haircut about a week ago. Just a trim, but a significant chunk is gone. But I didn't freak out so much this time, which was weird for me. Maybe I'm close to just chopping it all off.
Anyway, second, I started reading The Hunger Games finally, with much persuading by my sister and Veronica. It's pretty interesting.
And finally, I really want to go to Coachella this year even though I know I won't be going. I want to go to a music festival.

So that's all.

The kings and queens of promise...

So I love me some Duchess Catherine. And you should too since she's amazing. Obviously.

She wore this great floor-length Temperley London dress to the London premiere of War Horse (which was amazing by the way), and I have to say this is my favorite look of hers ever. Ever. Well besides the wedding, of course.
She is just perfection in every way. The hair is always down, which I love, she never has a lot of make up on, and she has a wonderful chivalrous man at her side, this time holding an umbrella for his lady. Just wonderful.

So this post will be short. I have an update. I entered The Joie Girl Contest on Chictopia to be the face of their upcoming spring campaign. That would be a dream come true so please vote for/favorite/share my picture here.

Love you all. An outfit post will be coming soon, I promise. And an amazing Inspiration Wednesday. Also the Golden Globes are tomorrow. Be excited.

Take a walk on the wild side...

Winter Badass.
That is what I want my look to be this winter. Because you can wear anything and look badass as long as you have the necessary items. You'd be surprised at what you can wear and still look like a badass. It surprisingly hasn't been too cold up here yet, so I'm trying to wear the stuff I actually like as much as I can.
I've been watching lots of trend videos for winter time and I came up with a couple looks of my own on Polyvore. I haven't posted like this in a long time so I thought I would. So if you would also like to be badass this winter (yes I said badass like fifty times), keep reading.

I know they're not super winter-y, but hey, I live in California. Smiles.

Side note: Watch Lana Del Rey on SNL this week. She's amazeballs.

When in front of you, I feel invincible...

I am back in Santa Cruz, everyone.
It doesn't really feel like I left which is kinda sad but true. I'm actually excited to be back, but I will definitely miss the random days with the crew, driving around Monrovia like crazy people.
So I guess I lied about posting a bunch before leaving for Santa Cruz, but I ended up just spending my last week with great people and having some fun nights.
Here are some pictures of my week.

Birthday dinner with the sister and cousins at La Luna Negra which was yum.

Lunch at Mexicali on my actual birthday with the family.

The frozen yogurt and crap ton of candy I consumed with Christine and the Andy man.

Running around Party City.

So yeah. Class starts tomorrow. I'll definitely post again by the end of this week.

This time I'm not leaving without you...

A new year means another birthday.
Today, I turned 20 years old. Yes, I get it, it's not that special. It's kind of the limbo in ages. But hot damn people, it's only boring if you let it. So I won't let it. I swear this year will be one of the greatest amazeballs years ever. I already had a good start. More pictures of the day to come.

TOP - XI/ SKIRT - AMERICAN APPAREL/ VINTAGE JEWELRY/ F21 TIGHTS/ JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS/ MAYBELLINE LIPSTICK IN FIFTH AVE. FUCHSIA/ OPI WARM AND FOZZIE

Today I celebrated with my family with lunch (and a super cute waiter) at one of my favorite places Mexicali in Studio City, bowling at Pinz, which I haven't played in forever but it was still super fun, and finally we went to go see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol at the Arclight, which was surprisingly very good. I am now at my sister's house just enjoying some downtime and In-N-Out.
My outfit today made me feel very much like Rumi Neely from Fashiontoast. I think we have the same skirt. I felt kinda formal all day too because of the heels and tights, but it was my birthday. It was also weirdly hot today too. Big change compared to last year, when it was raining cats and dogs.

All in all, I had a great day. Tomorrow I will be celebrating my birthday for a third time, this time with my sister and cousins. Last week I had a little something with my friends which I haven't posted about yet but I'm getting there.
Also, just to let you guys know, there won't be an Inspiration Wednesday this week or next week because I'm just trying to get as many posts in as I can before I go back to Santa Cruz. Once I get back to a regular schedule, I will start again. Don't worry. Smiles.
